1. No. To be sure, buy OEM part and keep receipt if you do it yourself. 2. I always work on my own stuff. 3. You can. Many people like it. Bike has better start up protection (cold start is where most engine wear occurs). 4. I did it myself, but I think they are about $220 in our shop. Note: If you do the service yourself, take it to the dealer and have the tps reset. After the first time, you shouldn't need it but every 10,000 miles or so. |

....and after the TPS reset, ride it at a steady 3000 rpm for 10 minutes to give the ECM a chance to relearn its settings. |

If you buy the software, you can reset the TPS yourself. I don't have a Buell dealer in my city, so I do as much as I can myself. |

1. Not sure, but might be if major damage happens and they want proof of maintenance. Keep your receipts to CYA. 2. Yes, because I am never happy with the work of others on my vehicles. 3. Yes, but it was my 3rd oil change. I did the 100 dino, 500 dino, 1000 to syn as recommend by a few people. I don't have the software so I will have my dealer do the TPS reset this weekend, but I will buy it when money permits. Checking the Primary chain was far easier than I expected. Service manual seems pretty good so far. 4. Price of Oil, filter and new drain plug orings. |
