Hi Folks, I will be trailering my Uly to Utah this late Sept early Oct and am wondering if any board members could suggest some "must-do" rides. We will be staying in Moab for 4 days then down to Vegas for 3 days than back up to Zion for about 5 days. I am also wondering about the tempertatures to get a better idea on gearing-up. I will be riding with pure streetbikes so no narly fireroad stuff.. |

Read this thread: http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/6817/227661.html?1158329019 That should give you some good ideas! |

Utah Route 12 from start to finish. one of the best bike roads I have ever seen. wide, smooth curves with stunning vistas. capitol reef has some real cool gravel roads running through the canyons. and I don't have to mention the valleys in and around Zion. keep the rubber side down. T3

Going to Moab and no off pavement??? That's a shame. That's going to be tough. Been to Moab on mountain bikes, dual sport motorcycles and 4X4's. (during Easter jeep safauri) Last time we were there a couple from Europe described it as an "off-road mecca". Couldn't have said it better. (sounded especially cool with their accent!!) Definetly on my short list of "must do's" with my Uly. Arches nat'l park is definetly worth it. It's all paved and the arches are spectacular. Beautiful place. |

My buddy has a VFR and he does OK on gravel with it so we may get in "some" gravel roads! We are bringing the mountain bikes for sure with plans to do slickrock riding, unfortunately I am just getting over a rather nasty bout of pneumonia which has pretty much messed that up Thanks Whodom for the amazing link, that guy put serious effort into sharing his adventure with us! |

Bluff to Mexican Hat, and on to Monument Valley. Best day's ride I've ever had. |

Try the Schafer Trail. It runs from Canyonlands NP back to Moab. I did this a few years ago on a KLR650, and its still a great memory for me. It would be no problem on the Uly. I think its where Susan Serandon drove the car off the cliff in Thelma and Louise. http://scenicutah.com/canyonlands-national-park/canyonlands0054.php |
