Took the Mrs on a Uly ride. She was reluctant at first. Pointing at the glide and saying "I want to ride that!". She got a version of "too bad" and away we went. After tooling around for a hour we stopped for a coffee and while sipping away she asks me if I'm going to ask her how she likes the Buell. I tell her I was waiting for her to bring it up. After a RCA dog look she procceds to tell me how its better in many ways to the E-glide. Citing smoothness in corners and not hurting her tailbone. The tailbone one I'm sure is b/c of the Corbin seat being so hard. Oh and it wasnt as 'vibratey' (her word). | ||

About 75% of my riding is two-up. After owning a couple of VFR's a FZ1 and renting numerous Harleys, My wife is convinced the Uly is the most comfortable bike she has ever been on! Seat density, peg to seat relation, good view and of course, the back rest are her reasons for liking it so. If your significant other doesn't like riding with you on the Uly I think you are pretty much screwed  | ||

I will ride with my husband on his M2, however, it's not the same as the Uly. You can't even compare the comfort level. I love having the backrest behind me. I can just sit and enjoy the ride and not feel like I have to hold on to stay on the bike. I do hold the grab bars when we are coming down to a stop, otherwise I slide into Carlos! I think the test ride with the wives or girlfriends sells these bikes! | ||

For my wife it was the looks. I was getting ready to purchase a Vstrom and she was complaining about how ugly it was. Just as ugly as your KLR." When we went and looked at the Uly her words were "this is the only bike you are allowed to buy. I'll even ride on this bike with you. It's way better looking than those other bikes." Needless to say I now own a Uly. When we were on vacation, she took a ride on my brothers Ultra Glide and says, "That is what you should have bought. Can we get one of those?" I told her when I turn 50 I'll go buy a Hondapotamus for her pleasure. For now, I prefer something that is fun to ride. I'm not ready for my pipe and slippers yet! Joel | ||

JMHINKLE..Why do you have to be 50 to by a dresser? We walked away from our ordered 06 Road Glide and bought the ULY after a 2 up test ride and my better half claiming with much conviction that it was " so much more comfortable that the Harley" Oh, by the way, we were 53 and 58 at the time and were ready to get our 3RD Harley. Could the ULY be bringing about a mid life crisis or just a second childhood? | ||

If so, sign me up! Of course for me that means "do as I please within the confines of raising 3 children, one being a 2 1/2 year old BOY"! "JMHINKLE..Why do you have to be 50 to by a dresser?" Because that is when I'll be ready for that kind of bike. I much prefer the Sport Touring or Sport Adventure type of bike for my riding style compared to a dresser. I don't find them comfortable or fun in anyway....yet. I'm sure I will get to that point oneday, but no time soon. I didn't claim anyone else needs to be 50 to do it, just me. Joel | ||

Jmh....Don't be in a hurry, the 850lb lazy boy was nice but the Uly is much more FUN. Ulywife...Thanks for permission. A short story on our purchase...we test rode one at the York Open house and my better half said it was "OK" and then walked across the parking lot to a friend of ours who was there and told him how much more she liked it that the HD we had ordered. He yelled at the top of his lungs " Hey Tim, she likes it more than the dresser"...The rest is history. | ||

Oldnotbold, Happy (belated) birthday. Retired, There is no hope for Slayer (I mean really, he lives in Ohio for crying out loud! Tsk, Tsk, Tsk poor, poor man.) By the way, I almost took a job with the Balto county FD. Slayer, I'm more of a Pitt fan. And they stink! Retired is probably a PSU fan though. he lives in Ohio for crying out loud Ohio is not such a bad place to live! We moved from Cincinnati 14 years ago. Slayer - hope you had a good weekend to ride. It was perfect here in NC. The average age around NC with Uly's seem to be mid 30's - mid 40's. We just got the 07 Seat - nice and cushy. My daughter says it's much better than both the stock and low 06 seats. Guess I'll find out this weekend! | ||

Ulywife, it was a nice weekend here in Ohio too. The BUCKEYES retained their #1 rating and the weather was great after the morning fog burned off. But by then I had moved on to other things and did not ride at all.  At least I got to spend time with friends and family! I spent Sunday at the local fair with a very nice lady and her dad. We were watching the early horse races at site of the "Little Brown Jug". "JUG" day is Thursday! Which is another way of saying the biggest party day in Delaware, OH!  | ||

Slayer - I don't really follow Bearcats Football. I do love to watch the Bearcats and Tarheels play basketball though. Most people in NC aren't sure about my front plate on my truck, its the "C" with pawprints! My husband went to OSU. Had a great year of partying on High Street! Our first date was at OSU the same weekend of the Ohio State/Michigan game. Trying to get out of Columbus was not easy! Our weather is about to break, so riding this weekend should be good, at least I'm hopeful. |
