So guys with broken latches back in February were getting new ones sent to them to fix themselves, yet when I was holding my new latches in my hands yesterday (that I've waited over a month for) I was told I couldn't walk over to my bike 20 ft away and install them myself.

When I commented that they looked the same as the originals I was told the factory only sends the latest improved parts for warranty repairs. Somehow I was not encouraged.

Court, DaveS, since the latch problem was known 7 months or more ago, what are the odds that the latches I have waiting for me at the dealer are an improved set?

ive broken my 2nd latch and other than the fact that they look sweet, i feel as though ive been bent over and reamed cause i HATE these freakin' cases.

- watertight as a frogs ass
- the latch breaks if you look at it wrong
- $800 freakin dollars installed
- when the latches arent broken, its a fist fight in the alley to get them open or closed
- did i mention that i hate these things, but the look really good. : (

somebody shoot me

Man, I hate you are having so much trouble with the bags. I replaced that one latch and then I learned to make sure the bags can close on their own before trying the latches. No problems since, but I was told back in February that the latch problem was going to be fixed. I have yet to see a new latch design. If there is one out there, I want to change mine to them, since I know the latches are weak.

Well, today was my day. I have always closed the cases by hand, not stressing the latches; but today my first one broke. I can't tell for sure, but it looks like the other side is going also. I doesn't lay flat.

Since it happened this afternoon, I have not had a chance to call customer service (is this the proper thing to do?). I will call in the morning.
