I was at Walmart and checked on the oil situation there. Mobil 1 extended life syn 15W50 is back on their shelves in 5 quart plastic bottles at just under $28.00. Just a couple of years ago I was getting the 15W50 on sale at 13 bucks for the 5 quart bottle. Maybe with the price of oil going down they won't be able to justify the high price. I know, it's low compared to Mobil 1 V-twin BUT it's still high to me. We are not talking about a motorcycle part that lasts like a handlebar, we're talking about oil that get's thrown out every 1000 to 2000 miles. To me the V-twin syn is just overpriced marketing hype labeled for those that buy name brand instead of generic at their drug store.

Why would you change your oil that often? That sounds like a waste regardless of how cheap the oil is.

Because he can...?

I'm using Valvoline VR1 racing 50wt.
<$4 a quart at PepBoys.
I will change the oil in my Uly at 2000 miles +/- a hundred. An oil change is still cheaper than an engine failure.

I do mine at 2,500 miles just because it neatly splits the Buell recommended 5,000 mile services, and I think that 5,000 is longer than I want to go between changes. Just MHO, not backed by oil analysis or anything.

Glad to hear that Wally is going to have the 15W50 again.

I normally change anywhere from 1500 to 3000 miles depending on the use. If I were on a long trip I would probably wait to the high side unless it was a lot of gravel roads.

Does sprawlmart carry Mobil 1 V-twin?

If so, anyone know how much?

The H/D stealer just raised the price for Syn 3 to $9.99! a quart. Thinking about switching.

i special ordered a case from a local oil supplier, something like 6.00 a bottle. you should be able to find a local oil/fuel supplier who typically caters to the heavy truck market who will be willing to special order it for you.

Autozone's website lists the M1 V-Twin 20-50 @ $7.99/qt. I believe that's what I paid a couple weeks ago for a case.

A buck cheaper than Syn3 and if it's true the dealers are upping it another dollar then I'll never go back...
