Hey guys, did a quick search and couldn't find anything specific to my issue....

left side case is letting water in. i suspect that both will, but the left is the culprit due to the lean when on the sidestand. out last week and the bike was parked for a few hours and it poured like i've never seen it. then, a week later, popped the side case and it had water sitting in it (bike is garaged at home). Pulling out the hose, I recreated the rainstorm and voila, water is seeping in the bottom of the case and entering at the corner gasket "fold". The fold is the same on the other side, so it looks normal. I can post some pics if needed.

Any ideas? I'm washing her today after a good labor day trip. This issue has the potential to suck the hind tit as I was used my watertight system cases on the BMW.

Other than this, no issues and still loving her.

after washing her up, both side cases are letting water in thru the bottom rear corner.

i'll post a pic asap of the internal seals - perhaps someone can give me a comparison look.

Have you read this thread?

We still have to check our seals. So far we've been lucky. Hope you get the bags to seal and stop letting water in.

I have leaky cases too. I haven't checked to see where the leak is, but after it was parked at work and got rained on, my helmet, gloves, and jacket were wet inside the cases. It was only when it rained flash flood style though. Normal rains seem to be ok. My seals seem to fit fine and don't pop out either.

I have ridden in heavy rain, and the cases have stayed dry. I am guessing it has something to do with the bike leaned over. I use case liners to pack in as well. It is nice to just grab a soft bag and take it in to a hotel or tent.
I use the ones I had for my system cases right now. I hope Cee bailey comes up with a set for the Uly, they are nice bags.

Here's a photo or two. My seals are pressed in with a spot or two of black calk which came right out. Perhaps replacing the seals will solve the leak? Both side cases are leaking, even when washing the bike.

I called the local Buell dealer and they cannot find a separate part # listed for the side case seals. They suggested I called the US distributor, Twisted Throttle, which I have. They are researching it for me. I also emailed Hepco Becker direct, however, unless they've got a good English translator, I'm not holding my breath.

This blows. I really like the cases, but can't believe they leak. The left case leaks a lot.

My left bag leaks also but I found it to be the screws that hold the latch to the case. 2 dabs of RTV fixed the problem. my seals bunch up the same way but no water is getting in at that area. Also the rivets that hold the bag to rack latch have had moisture on them after long rides in the rain so I sealed them up too. Just may be a consideration for others with water in the bag.

My left side is the same way. It only leaks when on the side stand. It rained REALLY hard yesterday....and when I went to pack the bags up after work, it had water in the bottom. I did notice that the bottom part of my seal was out of it's groove.

I am looking into adding some type of salastic or something.

Update on my luggage leaking. Got the new seals. The old seal job was
indeed kind of crappy and they weren't installed
carefully. Perhaps Franz was hung over that morning from too much
brewhaha. Contributing factor... perhaps.

Initial review after careful installation of the new seals -- left case
still leaks. Further review -- not really.

After spending some time investigating, i've figured out how the water is
coming in.
Bike is parked on sidestand. Rains cats and dogs and gnus. Water drips
down the cases and off the bike and makes it way into the outer bottom
channel of the LEFT CASE, see the bottom of the case in the prior photos or
consult your own bottom (of the case, that is).

Right side case, no big deal, water drains away no problem. But on the left
case, (with the bike on the sidestand) the water collects in that bottom
outer channel. It sits there until one unsuspecting dope opens the bag and
pow, the water drains from the bottom channel back into into the left bag.
Doh!

OK, in the name of scientific proof, I repeat. Dry out bag. Repeat
monster rainstorm. This time, take the left-side bag OFF the bike and let
the water drain out of the bottom channel. Voila - a dry case inside.
I think this deserves a second Doh!
