Finally got around to installing the race kit.
Much smoother at idle, sounds good and much more Omph at higher rpms. does seem to have lost a little low end but i don't spend much time at low rpm anyway : )!

I like it!

I like mine too.

Anyone have a race muffler they'd like to sell?

how much louder is it than stock? Obviously I want the subjective answer....IS it as loud is a lightly modified Sportster or harley with screaming eagle pipes, or is it a lot louder? I've read the shoot out on pipes, and know it is roughly 3 db louder (twice as loud), but what is your take on it.

I am not a fan of loud bikes, but the race muffler isnt so bad. I think it actually starts singing around 4k rpm.

It to me sounds like a mildly modified harley. If you ride gently, it isnt any louder than a stock harley. The position of the exhaust makes it sound louder to the rider than it actually is.

I agree. To the rider, it is MUCH louder, but to everyone else, it's not too loud.

I've cranked my bike up and standing next to it, it seems so loud. Go inside my house, and you can barely hear it.

Waaaaay richer sounding in my opinion, but in no way do I think it is too loud, or for that matter anywhere near as loud as a modified harley.

Have a friend that rides a softtail with slip on screaming eagle pipes, and he is way louder, and he sounds "sharper" if that makes sense.

I am really glad I made that modification to mine, but to each there own...

Interesting. I just put the race kit on my XB9SX and I thought it was a little too loud. I wish there was something between stock and the race kit pipe in terms of volume - I would be in heaven. I agree the sound is much richer, and sounds more like a proper Harley, but it still draws roo much attention where I live.

On the bike the pipe is quite louder than stock, and I had a couple motor officers that I passed lugging it at 2K still give me the look. I just hope it isn't loud enough to get me in to trouble, as I live in a beach city where cops hate motorcycles. One think I noticed, is that on my NRHS 1250 Sportster, the Supertrapp gets progressively louder, but the race kit has a big bark of idel, mellows out, then gets progressively louder. Just wish that bark off idle wasn't there.

Chadhargis - I hope you are right...

The race kit is the bomb!! IMHO low end is stronger pulling. 0 & I mean no flat spots on mine and it pulls like a tractor to the red line. Loader yes but it is hard to have the best of both worlds. I found the ride very enjoyable w/ ear plugs in and I must say at this point, I would not go back to stock. This thing yanks the wheel off the ground from 3rd to 4th gear on hard starts and I've even had it pull up at 55 (not sure what gear it was). Holly S**T. If you can find the kit by all means get it. This is how Eric would have like to sold you the bike in the 1st place...

I agree! The sound from the pipe it tits up!
It sold me the bike really that and the seat height! I can even sneak out of the hood without waking anyone up at 5am.

I am leaving today for a 2K+ trip to the Vacation spot of America - North West Kansas!

All you guys going to the Gap. Eat your hearts out!! : )

After I hit kansas, I have one left hand turn... and I plan to take it hard! : )

Race kit is not as loud as the 9 kit and not as loud as any of the other aftermarket pipes. A shame the quit making it. The Uly no longer sounds like a moped: )

Added tank bag, Installed dynamat under the seat, and a throttle lock. drilled out the rivets on the tourtech handlebar bag and installed my own sears rivet - it now fits on the bars! Bags are packed, didn't even need my T-bag... and I am headed out this morning.

Thanks Daves for getting all the stuff out to me in time to go!
