Check out the "Custom" Uly. For that money its time to go over to a 1200GSA. Seems like some very expensive paint and lights!

20,999.00 CAD
Canada Dollars = 18,941.36 USD

Way too much much for paint. What do Ulys go for up in Canada anyway?

That kind of price increase is not that unusual in the Harley world when
you consider the fact the Uly is CHEAP by H-D standards.

Look at it this way, that Uly is still less expensive than most, if not all, of
the H-D's on the dealership floor. It's a bargain when viewed that way.

I doubt it'll fly with Buell riders though, especially with factory camo-design
plastic available now for far less.

Some nerd-bucket will ante up. People pay 50 Grand and more for one-off choppers that fall apart faster then they can pay them off.

I bet they also get the custom paint sets from the Harley P&A and put in on a bike then tell customers "Its a special limited edition."

Local dealer plays that game. They had a nice looking Softail with a paint set installed. Salesmen comes up while I'm looking at the price tag.

Sales: "You know thats a special limited edition."

Chris: "Special limited edition paint set."

Sales: "Yes the paint is limited to only 150 bikes. Thats how it comes from the factory"

Chris: "Then how come I can open the P&A catalog and get the exact same paint set?"

Sales: (sheepishly) "Its a limited edition"

Chris: "If I were to purchase this motorcycle would I get the sheet metal your service dept removed?"

Sales: "Umm thats up to the mgr and the cost would have to be discussed. Besides why would you want the stock stuff when you would have this awesome paint job."

Chris: "Well it says right here on the tag + $2500 for the paint. So that means I'm buying two sets of sheet metal and only getting one."

Sales: mumbles something about the Mgr.

I dont care if they take a bike and farkle it all up and adjust the price accordingly. What annoys me is when they try to outright lie to people.

What's with all the hype on camouflage paint jobs?

The last thing I wanted to see after coming back from Vietnam was OD and camouflage paint jobs.

Wannbe patriots?

Now if it were a RealTree Edition with rifle mount, knobbies, and bagged game rack......

Can't you get camo trim from Buell now?

I think they'll be dropping the price soon.

It's the current fashion, in clothing too. Have you not seen the tie dies, mini skirts, and peace symbol. Shot, the other day I saw women burning their bras. What's that you say? OH sorry, must have been a flashback!
