I'm tired of feeling like the black sheep of the herd at my HD dealership. They sell em, but don't want to support them, cause the Buellers don't come in every week and buy a chrome nick knack. I couldn't even find a Buell decal or a Tee shirt. They must have 500 HD shirts, but only one long sleeve butt ugly Buell shirt. I try to ride with the HOGie's, but it gets tiresome not using 5th gear. I keep my Uly dirty, so they don't like to park next to me. Seriously, it will be a great day for Buell when they can stand on their own, and have their own outlets, or at least figure out how to get the dealerships to sell them right. Anyone agree? |

They will stand on their own as soon as recall parts come in to fix those side stands. |

Every time I hear a story like that, I'm thankful I live in Atlanta. We have a really active BRAG chapter, and Stone Mountain Harley-Davidson takes great care of us. |

I tried 3rd gear, but figured if I lugged it in 4th, it would sound better. Its the sparks from their parts rubbing on the pavement that worry me, here in the dry West. I'd like to visit a supportive dealership. Anyone know of one on the Left Coast? |

My dealer's in the middle I think. Cracks me up that in a large showroom full of (I admit it) beautiful shiny HD's and the walls and half the floor covered in HD riding gear, the couple of Buells sit in a corner with the bike trailers and a four foot wide rack of t-shirts and a few hats. But the parts and service and sales people are pretty nice to me, and jump when I want something. Service has been a little resistant to my concerns about the sidestand, timing, and now the fan. Documented proof to them from another dealer that my timing was way off from the factory and the stand recall have taken care of two issues. My stand recall appt is in a week so I'm gonna press them to warranty the fan the same time. Dirty Uly? This is my first bike I haven't kept immaculate! Fact is my bike was 5k serviced last week at 6k and 2k's worth of bugs from five states on it! |

"HDs drag parts when they turn?" So does the Ulysses if you lean it more than 39 degrees. (Message edited by chadhargis on August 09, 2006) |

I know how you feel. My dealer tries to help but I feel like I'm speaking another language when I ask anything pertalning to buell. This website has been invaluable to me. I would like to say thanks to everyone involved It's true my ULY has some things I don't like but I still love this motorcycle. Come to think of it I don't like some things about my wife but I've been married to her for 32 years. Oh thats right she pays half of my payment. |

The only way my Uly will lean more than 39 degrees is if that sidestand fails. |

HDs drag parts when they turn? Only under 2 conditions if either the rider knows what he's doing or the rider doesn't know what he's doing. In the second case they drag LOTS and LOTS of parts. |

Right on Frank, It is a totally different world on the Buell. I cut my teeth on a FLHRCI ,bought a salvage heritage springer, and now the buell.. Dealers either welcome you with open arms or tell you how the owners "lost their ass" trying to sell Buells. The reaction from a lot of the "weakend (intentional misspelling) warriors" on the chrome magnets is amusing to say the least...It's kind like the weary look you get from wild animals . You know that look.. Sideways posturing, with the quick glances "I'm looking but I'm not looking" kinda thing... you are semi-invisible at this point; which can be a good thing... When riding in a pack of big twins One gets the feeling of being the corsairs of the fleet, fast and nimble.. I guess this chaps those guys when you are the first to the crapper or get the best table at the pub... cheers Ride VA. |

On the other hand... I ride with my bro-in-law who has an '06 Street Bob. He has taken great care to make it as "old school" as possible (and he really has done a very nice job). Every time we stop it's my Uly that gets all the the attention. The last time was from a group of gentlemen wearing colors (red and white). He is crushed... I find it *very* funny. |

> The only way my Uly will lean more than 39 degrees is if that sidestand fails. The bike is actually quite well composed at a 39 degree angle. I did this the first day I had it.
