Hey guys finally bit the bullet and got the sweetest motorcycle ever! 110 miles on her and I am going to change the fluids tomorrow before I ride. Only issue so far..... 1st and 2nd gear below 3500rpm accelerating slowly like in traffic is very sensitive. Going from little gas to no gas is not smooth neither is no to a little. Is this normal, I remember my test ride being smoother.

Enough about the bad.... bike is on rails, I love the engine, plenty of power and I am not even touching 5k+ yet. Taking the harsher approach to break in, just kept the rpm's a little lower than usual but otherwise lots of heavy wrist twisting.

Got it for 10.7 OTD, I am on cloud nine. I love having a new bike, especially one as sweet as the Uly.

Cant wait to get a tank bag and side cases, my magnetic tank bag is of no use.

The low speed surging is a known problem. It helps to install the now discontinued race kit. It gets out most of the surging but not all of it.
Congratulations on the bike. I have never had a bike I have been so pleased with. It does every thing I want it to do so well.

Don't even worry about the surging at low speed until after the 1k service has been done.

Congrats - Is this a surging issue or just the light throttle response? The bike will jump with the clutch out and light throttle modulation at slow speeds. This is a by product of a lot of torque and quick throttle response. It took me a while to get use to it. Agreed with Teeps, just ride the first 1k miles then lets see.

Wademan, congratulations! Give the bike time and mileage enough to get broken in. It gets better as the miles add up. I'll be hitting 12,000 on my Uly this week, and it's running better than ever. You also need to give yourself enough time to get used to the bike. Boy, are you going to have fun on it.

It is a transition thing/light throttle modulation. I was going to wait till after the 1k service to complain about anything anyways. I wish they still made the race kit. Does anyone have a secret source of remaining race kits?? I must have sounded excited.... i am. Did you guys get a FREE Ulysses tshirt?? The sweat wicking one?? I DID!! Haha, Im just giddy to throw mondo miles on this thing. I need luggage though.

I feel so naked without all of the little things you always carry.

Wademan: Sounds like you got a deal like mine. I got mine OTD 11,500. They did give me the three bags mounted, Lower seat at their cost and I could have gotten the taller shield at their cost. I figured I just boought the bike at MSRP and they tossed in the mounted bags for free.
