Hello all, new to the board. Been enjoying/lurking for awhile and have found this to be a most excellent source of Buell info. Comments here helped convince me to go with a Uly without even a test ride! I purchased a "new" Buell XB12X with 2500 km on the clock and the next day left home for the Dragon. I was able to have included the tall windscreen and the gel pad for the beaver tail with of course the three hard bags. After 9 days on the road and 5500 kms added to the clock here are some comments; Likes: -great to surf the torque from 3000 to 5000 -excellent suspension that responds to tweaking. -amazing in the twistys -fine fit and finish, this bike is well built and looks it. Nice touches abound. -most comfortable bike I have ever had (6'-0" 200 lbs 32" inseam) -my wife loves it, very comfortable for her as well. -amazing gas mileage.(piss off your riding buddys!) -no one else has one around here. -great sound under acceleration. Dislikes; -Stock tires, had to change the back on the road, front scares the shit out of me over 120 kph. -not convinced about the tall screen -below 50 kph very herky-jerky. -there has to be a more quiet alternative to that fan, very annoying. -I think I might have to go with the lower seat.... -latching hardware for the bags instills no confidence -I kinda miss a gas gauge. All and all I had a great trip with this bike, the Blue ridge and all the amazing roads in the Smokys seem to be what this bike was designed for! My "faster" buddy on his ZX12 couldn't follow me on the Dragon, could't have done that with my FZ1. |

Congrats on your new bike. Best wishes for many happy miles. I have a similar list of hits and misses with the exception of seat height. I love the 06 high seat. |

Yep, same here! Quote "-below 50 kph very herky-jerky." again, a real pisser when you're off-road, don't know how long the clutch will keep up! |
