Is the OEM rack, include the top case rack. I have been searching for a 06 Uly and found one that I can get for $11,625 but that includes the side cases only.

I know I can add a top box later, but I am just looking to see if I have to buy another rack system.

Thanks,

Mike

I am pretty sure you can add the top box and an additional mount is not needed. When I bought my luggage system it specified top box available with side cases only.

To many $$$ for a 06 You can find them for 11,495 + with all 3 bags. You could do better than that now they told me that 4 mo. ago

The top case it $275 and it comes with the top case and the top case mount, if that helps. It is entirely possible that you can affix the side racks and side cases and not have gotten the top case. The rack for the top case can only be had if you buy the top case and vice versa.

I think if you buy the top case separately then you will end up with a different key than the side cases. That would be kind of a pain. It was discussed awhile back.

if you have the number off the key, you can have the tumbler changed to match. A hepco becker dealer could do it, or a competent locksmith.

If you have to get a separate top box you might consider this extra-gigantic one:
http://www.twistedthrottle.com/trade/productview/646/335/

It looks like the proper size on the bike and by comparison the stock one looks small, weak,
and timid.

Thanks guys... I'm just going to try and work it out with getting the whole bag setup insted of just the sides.

I'd love to get a Uly at $11,500 OTD with the 3 bags, but around here... it ain't happening on the left overs. And for the drive...it's a hella drive. I wouldn't mind flying out and riding it back... but that's a lot of hassle (even with a free ticket).

Thanks for all your help!

Michael-When I got my wing in 02 I flew out to St. Lou and rode back to Wash., D.C. area. it was a great ride and also I saved money on the deal. I just sold that wing and the fellow rented a car and drove from Kentucky to the Wash, D.C. area and rode the bike back. I think if you look around for deals, contact all the dealers in areas that you can get to, you can have a fun adventure and also save money. I know that there was a Uly in Annapolis that they were desperate to get out of the store. The dealer where I purchased mine told me after the papers were signed that the area rep for HD came to him and told him that they were just not moving enough buell product, specifically the Uly. The Manager gave the HD rep. the phone book and said look up how many BMW dealers there are in this area. Maybe one up in Delaware but none on the Eastern shore of Maryland. There just is no market over here for the bike thus they were willing to strike a deal. I think if I had held out, new models coming out, I could have gotten a better deal thus if you look around I bet you can find a terrific deal. Good Luck and try to make an adventure out of this. As they say "You only go around once".

My big box has the same style but a silver
central accent band. You can't really tell a difference from the gold tone ones unless you are looking real close to see anything to complain about-like my X!

You can get them for good prices right now with all three bags, just look oh, about 875 miles from you ;).

The top bag isn't too bad to install yourself either. Like mentioned before though, you will probably get mismatching keys.

Javadog , I want that box also does it fit the Ulysses rack I already have. I agree the top box looks like it belongs on a scooter.

Brad-
Yes, the big box slides back and clamps on just like the little one, and looks fantastic.
It seems to have a lot more space although it is 48 liters compared to 42 for the smaller,if I recall. I bought mine from CycoActive in Seattle. I believe they are the only certified Touratech dealer in the US.Their website is touratech-usa.com. Be careful when looking at their Ulysses accessories, though. Many of the things on the site since January still are not available.
