I've been a big fan of Pelican cases for years. I use them when I'm out on my boat, on the beach, on a chartered dive boat, etc to keep my goodies dry and secure.

I was perusing ADVRider recently and happened upon a thread in the vendor forum regarding the Caribou Case luggage system based on large Pelican cases with integral locks and locking quick-disconnects. The post has many detailed photos showing the finer points of an installation on a BMW:

Within that post is a link to Adventure Motorcycle Equipment:

As one can see, they have complete systems available for many adventure bikes, but not the Ulysses.

I sent an e-mail this afternoon, asking if one was forthcoming.

Roger Pioszak replied shortly, saying he is very much interested in developing a system for the Uly, but does not have access to a Ulysses. He needs one in order to create a Uly-specific prototype to test.

Since I would be interested in a Caribou system, I offered to post a thread here on his behalf, in hopes that someone in the Colorado area might see this and be interested in helping Roger with the R&D for a Ulysses system.

Hi Stretch,

I looked for someone to volunteer a Uly for this project a couple of months ago:

Roger needs the Ulysses for about2 weeks to do the work and so far we have not been able to find anyone with a Ulysses that lives close enough that is also willing to part with their Uly for 2 weeks while the work gets done.

Hopefully your post will find the right person!

I hope so.

If not, after I get my Uly, a couple of weeks "stranded" in the Rockies shouldn't be too bad, hm?

Chauly, right here on Badweb, mounted a pair of Pelikan cases on his KTM Adventurer years ago and they work marvy.

I had Pelikan make a set of custom cases for the TEAM ELVES radio gear and they are awesome.

Hey Stretch,

Atlanta to Denver is quite a ride.... best get it on your calendar before the days get much colder and you won't be able to ride the more northern stretches.

I thought about making the trip but my troubled calendar won't allow it for this year.
