07s are up on the Buell site. It's not loading properly for me at work, but it looks like the Uly gets Syncs and what looks to be a different seat. Not much else that I can see. |

I wonder if the new seat is modified to prevent contact with the rocker box. Shame there wasn't at least a new colour option... Still, it's reassuring to see not much has changed Cheers -Jack |

I think that the Camo is OK, but having Syncs stock on the Uly is great. I've always liked Pirelli Tires. |

I see they didn't use the camo pattern I suggested about a year ago. Kind of cool though. |

I wonder if the new seat is modified to prevent contact with the rocker box. If that were the only reason, they wouldn't have had to resculpt the padding like that. My guess is that they lowered the seat to make the bike more appealing to the average-sized rider. Overall, the one complaint I've heard most from potential buyers is that the stock seat is too tall. Edit: Sorry, I misunderstood your post the first time I read it. Duh. (Message edited by roadrailer on July 14, 2006) |

Yep, trying to broaden their market reach no doubt by lowering the seat height. I'll see how it compares to my Buell Low seat. If it's significantly better I guess I'll be buying yet another seat. Probably not though. Jim in SB |

Looks like no Dunlops on any of the Buells... Pirelli across the board... except Blast. |

Humm...no more Formula+ required. Did they change the clutch, or simply determine that the special juice isn't necessary? I want the new fork springs!! |

That underseat storage bag may be helpful. Stuff under there will move around then the seat won't latch happily. That might keep it all in order. Good idea. Jim in SB |

The chin spoiler looks to have a slight arc inward now for the front tire. DAve |

The chin spoiler change was on some of the late '06s as well. Hmm... New Seat Design For 2007, the Buell Ulysses is a better fit for more riders, thanks to a new seat shape that’s both narrower at the front and lower overall. Seat height is reduced by 1.3 inches, to 31.8 inches. Seat comfort and durability is further enhanced by the elimination of seams on the side of the seat and an improved coarse texture. New Tires Another change for 2007 is a switch from Dunlop D616 to Pirelli Scorpion Sync tires. Through testing by Buell it was determined that when fitted to the Ulysses, the Pirelli tires deliver better pavement performance and similar performance on unpaved roads, thanks to an aggressive, open tread pattern. Tire size is unchanged, at 120/70R-17 front and 180/55R-17 rear. New Fork Springs and Airbox Cover Revised front fork springs improve handling and rider comfort, while a revised functional airbox cover optimizes air flow potential without affecting intake noise. Pricing on the new bits? Chad, what do you hope to gain w/ the fork springs? |

Fork springs are supposed to help control front end dive during braking. They are a progressive setup. |

I can vouch for the sync's being decent off-road. I take my CityX all over the local forest services roads, and have done couple of runs with 'adventure bikes' - much to their amazement. maybe worth a note: the syncs are pressure sensitive. sand / hardpack / forest service roads, I run street pressures. Mud, loose/deep gravel, drop to ~25 psi, and they're passable ( still not a lug tire though) |

I love the camo stuff but not the price... Maybe if they had a whole package for $500.00? and include a slip over seat cover for the pillion portion. |

For those who wondered about the rubbing. Buell has a block by the ECM now that prevents that. I sat on the seat a couple times today. The new seat is pretty comfortable. There is a different between this and the low seat though. The low seat has the gel in it. This one does not. |

I bought my 10/05-built bike in May, ordered the low seat then. I wasn't sure how I'd like the standard seat since the demo I rode had the low and it was still a stretch to the ground even with my sort of long legs. I quickly adjusted to the standard's height and when the low seat arrived (with the ECM block included, but my 10/05 bike already had one installed [?]) I swapped them out to try the Low. For about 30 miles. I liked how it dropped me down "into" the bike, I figured the CityX bars I ordered also would work great with this seat. But at stoplights I didn't see a change from the standard. The Low has a flat and wide shape, not allowing my legs to get as straight down as the higher narrower standard seat, so my ground contact at stops felt the same. Your physique may vary. The new '07 seat looks better since it drops the height a bit but still appears to have a narrow top for more vertical leg position at stops. Yep Jim_sb looks like I'll soon have three Uly seats too... I just hope they compensated the lower '07 seat with a firmer foam compound, the standard is way too soft which sucks for distance comfort. Aux lights? Frame mounted please, no more load on the fork. Better yet as I posted elsewhere give us a frame mounted mini-fairing ala KTM. Pirellis? Thanks, I like my 616's. Maybe the front hunts a bit but living in CA with its raingrooved fwys you get used to that with most tires. Besides I'll be ready for a new rear tire soon between 6-7k and my local shop will sell it to me mounted and balanced for $125. Waiting for my Fuell issue to arrive so I can see what the new Tall windscreen looks like... I've been waiting since May for mine to arrive so maybe if there's an improved version that'll be the one I get when it's finally shipped. And the tankbag I also ordered back then still hasn't shipped so I was glad to see there's a new bigger one I like better so I've cancelled the first one and we'll see when the Deluxe gets here. As long as Buell deals quickly with the sidestand problem, the pinging Uly problem, the Hepco/Becker sidecase latch problem, and whatever else comes up (my new-bike fan is two months old and now starting to make noises...), then I'll hold on. Hope the '07's are refined. |

I've had my Uly since last October, going in today for the Sync's front and rear, the price here in Melbourne Aus is au$230 front, au$315 rear, the rear has worn into a weird profile/shape (probably incorrect inflation due to 2 punctures) and I'll change the front so I have the same compound on each end! The only problem's I've had were the Nut re-tension done under warranty and the rear plate light surround disintergrate (that could be done under warranty, just haven't done it) and the rear tyre has had 2 punctures! |

Does this mean Dunlop will stop manufacturing the 616's? I'm one of the few that like them. Also, there aren't many choices for 17" off road worthy tires. To have one choice gone would not be good. |

In the short time I've had my bike I've really learnt to dislike the front tyre. I'll definitely be replacing the Dunlops with something else and the Syncs look good. Has anyone tried the Michelin Macadam 100 X tyres? They are a Michelin recommended fitting for the Uly. |

Aux lights? Frame mounted please, no more load on the fork. Better yet as I posted elsewhere give us a frame mounted mini-fairing ala KTM. Just remember that everything mounted to the frame means drilling into the gas tank, or welding an attachment point. From a safety standpoint *crashing* the less potential to rip a hole in the tank the better. |

Has anyone tried the Michelin Macadam 100 X tyres? Not on the Uly, but on BMW RT's they had a bad rep. Cupping, weird wear. Go for the Pilot Roads (which have since replaced the 100X). |

The syncs seem to have improved the straight line stability on my Uly, they're still new so I haven't pushed them hard in a corner but they definitely feel better/smoother than the Dunlops. |
