Another positive experience with the Syncs. Even rain-grooved freeways are very smooth. The minor "hunting" of the 616's never really bothered me, but the Syncs make the bike rock solid at speed. Might try the Diablos next. (Message edited by fubar on July 20, 2006) |

I just ordered a set of the Continental Road Attacks. I don't do much non-pavement riding other than the occasional gravel driveway. I don't dislike the 616's but I want something with better wear. I'll probably put around 20K miles on the bike in a year and a new rear every 4500-5000 miles isn't gonna cut it. I'll post back after I get them mounted. |

I like the "Dunslops", although I'll consider trying the syncs once the front is worn through, based on the many comments here. Only problem, the front is fine, I need a new rear @ 5,500 miles - and find that there is a nationwide backorder on the D616! Either Dunlop fell down on the production calcs, or the demand is there. Dang, they last longer than syncs and cost less. Anyone have any in stock? |

I have a D616 front tire with minimal miles that I will sell for a reasonable amount. I replaced it with a Pirelli Diablo Strada which has worked great for me(rarely go offroad). |

I bought 2 sets of 616s from SWMototires not too long ago. Notice their website shows out of stock on the rear now though. |

Leo The Metzler roadtec Z6 is an excellent road tire. High mileage, and great grip. I had a set last 11k miles on one of my Bmw Motorcycles. I dont think you can go wron with a set of those. |

Lorazepam, My suggestion for a minimal frame-mount fairing for the Uly would not require any modifications to the current XB perimeter frame. The Firebolt has a beautiful arrangement, and if BMW could hang that awesome R100RS fairing onto a bike in '77 with two bolts into the steering head then the mounting castings on our Uly's should be more than adequate. I'm not talking barndoor protection here. But this motorcycle BEGS for high speed long distance and a serious cleanup of the windblast would enable that. If a Firebolt is still "naked" then a "SuperTour" Uly would still be naked, and unique as Buells will always be (I hope), which is why I'll still have mine 20 years from now. Unless fan replacements bankrupt me by then... |

These guys may have something in the works http://www.whaccessories.com/Wild%20Hair%20Main.htm I have an '84 R80ST and all it has is a national cycle deflector screen, and I would ride it to the west coast that way. The cee bailey +2.5 gives me as much wind protection as my R1150RS had, and the Uly doesnt beat me up in cross winds like that bike did. |

Davo, Buell City X motorcycles come stock with the Pirelli Scorpion Syncs so your dealer should have some in stock or be able to get them. Any motorcycle shop should be able to order them for you. |

It's official (my opinion), the Dunlops suck, just spent 2 days on the Uly with the new syncs, rain/dry/mud/sand up to 100 mph, every surface the syncs felt a better tyre than the Dunlop, the only downside I could detect was a very very slight anti-lock type judder from the front when hard under brakes, either through the more aggressive tread on the sync or the brakes being put on differently (highly unlikely)???? |
