A week ago I got back from a one week, 4,000 mile ride to Yellowknife, Northwest Territories. The trip included the Liard Hwy -- about 350 miles of gravel. I lowered the tire pressure to 28 front/30 rear and it was no worse than my BMW F650GS in most spots. In deep, wet gravel I would have liked a taller wheel but I survived. This was my 3rd trip from Seattle to the north country. This was the first trip with absolutely no mechanical problems. The other two trips were on BMW's. A week before the trip the belt broke for no apparent reason with only had 2800 miles on the bike. I took a spare on this trip but it was just dead weight. This bike is a keeper. |

Sounds cool. Did you do this trip on a CityX or Uly? Your profile says you have a CityX. Do you plan on posting pics? |

Traded my CityX for a Uly last summer. Guess it's time to update the profile. Not too many pictures -- too busy riding. When I was stopped I was busy fighting off the damn black flies. Pictures I do have are posted here: http://web.mac.com/jpalms/iWeb/Site/Yellowknife.html |

Fool4Buell, Thanks for sharing the pics. Lots have speculated about the Uly's worthiness for this trip so it is good to see that it can make it. Happy Trails, WindRider |

Thanks Fool4Buell. Very cool. 4000 miles in a week is ambitious. |

Hey Fool4Buell what program are you using to do those great looking presentations. I think that program should come with every Uly sold. Great shots and well presented. Thanks |

Fool4buell, I was in BC and Alberta the same week as you. Rode 3000 miles and traveled through at least 5 nat'l parks. (I lost count). Didn't go as far N as you, but when my buddy's V-Star started giving him trouble he had to flog it home, then I started looking for gravel. Only did about 30 miles on the back side of Arrow Lake, but it was awesome. I'm headed to Butte next week for Evil Knevil days. Would love to take the Macgruder corridor through ID (100 miles of gravel through some of the most remote wilderness in the lower 48), but don't want to do it alone. I've got maps and know exactly where it is. You up for another trip? Jerry |

Thanks for the great news. Any chance we can coax more of your two-wheeled adventure story out of you? Would be very interested to here it. |

Ditto Blake's request. I'd like to hear a fulling telling of the tale when you get time. How you managed on fuel, route, any problems, etc. I'd love to do this trip with my Ulysses in the future. Best, Jim in Santa Barbara |
