I'm trying to put together a new promotion for our Uly's and am unsure on what is the going hours charge for a bag install on the Uly. We've only installed 2 bag sets and our billed hours was 1.75. Is that reasonable?

Josh,

That's a reasonable time IMHO. I did the the side bags, no top box, in about that amount of time. If both side brackets line up properly it'll be a really quick 1.75 hours : ) I had to tweak the right side bracket.

Josh,
I installed my bags myself. I had an early set and the brackets lined up very well. I have to say it took me less than an hour to install my side bags.

I just took top bag and bracket off. four bolts. 1/2 socket 3/8 socket and 3/8 open wrench(if I remember correctly). Took about 15 minutes. Took longer to find the proper size sockets and wrench than to remove top case.

I am not mechanically inclined, had fitment issues with the rack (side bags only), and still had it installed in 45 minutes. Does adding the rack for the top case take another hour? I doubt it.

My average for the three sets I have done is less that two hours and I think your 1.75 would be a good estimate. ... Terry

Does anyone know why the price on the bags went up?

92030-05Y Top Case & Side Case System $1,124.95

90057-05Y Side Cases (Pair) $799.95

I believe they were $999 and $699 last week.

They are made in Germany and the US to Euro exchange rate has changed. This happens all the time in the rest of the world. Price fluctuations because of the dollor exchange rate cause wildly varying prices. Thats why the Euro was invented now the prices don't fluctuate as much in Europe. In Canada the price of US made bikes has dropped substantially in the last few years due to exchange rates. Canadian dollar used to be 67 cents US now it is 88 cents US. Thats almost 30% difference.
