I just got my low seat. I've been wrestling with it for over 15 minutes. It will not fit. I get the front tongue in under the air filter cover, then slide it forward. The back part will not go down and lock. I've tried smoothing out the cables around the battery but nothing seems to work. I do have the zipper cover/bra on the air filter cover but it doesn't appear to be the cause of the problem. Any ideas? | ||

loosen the rear mount(lock) and try again, if this works(and it has every time for me) space out the lock assy w/a washer and it should be fine. hope this helps,Bob | ||

I got my low seat yesterday. The bottom of it looks the same as the regular seat so it should fit the same. I don't understand why they have you put in a plastic block by the ecm, but I did it as the directions said. Then I slid the seat on and it snapped in to position with little effort. Can't understand what the problem may be with yours. Is something interferring with the latch? | ||

The seat was shipped w/o instructions. I noticed that the spacer block was actually already installed on the front part of the ECM. I did read about the need of the spacer from another post on the board. Anything of importance in the instructions that I might need to know? | ||

Occasionally the latch mechanism moves into the lock position with the seat off. Make sure the latch is open before putting seat on. It is not immediately obvious how it works so cycle it a couple of time with the key. | ||

Alershka....... its actually much easier than that..... I had the same problem with mine..... how did I solve it? put both hands together, and hammer the mo** fu** as hard as u can on the read part. It will latch. After some days, the plastic takes the right shape and it will latch as the high seat. | ||

I did actually have the seat on for a few minutes, however, it unlatched and the back popped off again. I'll wrestle with it again and if I get it on, I'll leave it on for the weekend. Feel like an idiot needing tech support for a seat install but thanks to everyone who's offered up some things to look for. J | ||

We had to fight with our low seat to get it on well. Seemed if the front lined up then the back didn't and vice-versa. Finally with some pushing, shoving, and lots of cussing, something hit just right and it fell into place. You're not alone with this frustration. However, my husband says now it goes on and off without any issues. | ||

When I first got mine, last winter, I also had a hell of a time getting it to latch. I had to really hammer it to get the latch to catch. However, after it was on for a while,(I didn't take it off for a few weeks) everything started working like it should. I have no problem with it at all now. | ||

Mine was hard to latch the first few times. it is much easier now. Not as easy as the regular seat yet. I am still having trouble figurin out how to remove the bolt to put the spacer in. Seems like the plastic prevents an open ended or socket to hold the nut. Any ideas? I was thinking maybe needle nose pliers to hold the nut. thanks | ||

Any tips on removing the bolt that you replace for the spacer? I can't get anything around the nut due to the black plastic shroud. | ||

Same problems with that f#$%in' bold over here in The Netherlands (Europe). The nut holding the bold is turning around in the soft plastic, and I tried anything for about one hour to stop the damn thing turning. I threw my tools along the street and went to the dealer! | ||

az m2,remove the seat,there are 2 t27 bolts facing forward that hold the latch for the seat to the same bracket that holds the rear power port.remove these and install a 1/4"id washer tighten and you should be done. even my stock seat latches ezer.sorry if my post caused any confusion.Bob ' | ||

My low seat would not fit either. I returned it to the dealer and they ordered me a new one. The new low seat fits as good as the standard. I don't see any reason to modify the latches or muscle it -- have the dealer get you a properly fitting seat. | ||

I was just putting something under my seat and had a thought. Check that the storage area is clear first. Anything you have in the storage area can interfere with the seat fitment -- not a great design. My owner's manual slid down towards the battery right where the seat support needs to be. The seat wouldn't latch. |
