Well, my race kit came in yesterday, hour and a half later...........wow!!! The Uly is totally transformed. no herky jerky low end, tons of top end and twice the fun factor. I love it. Get yourself one if you can. |

Well, you don't have to just wait to get the race kit, if an when it is still being offered. Just get the Drummer SS, Buell race ECM and filter and be done with it. Its the biggest and best thing that happened to mine. |

Gotta agree with Superchicken and of course everyone who has talked about the improvement in driveability, low end and top end. The sound is amusing- I keep looking around for the Harley. the boys at the club like the sound- call me a wannabe-but their drool is all over my fairing The bike will pull from 2K easily and even lower. The top end is a nice little rush. A good return on the investment! |

What was in it? An ECM, filter and Slip on? Thanks for the answer BTW Mb182. |

ECM, Filter and Muffler. It does away with the interactive exhaust valve.. and is not EPA tune. MB |

So...if your Uly pulls cleanly from well below 2,000 rpm (and runs flawlessly at all speeds) does that mean you already HAVE the race kit? My Uly _was_ "pre-owned" by the Prez of BMC, Jon Flickinger hisself. Maybe they put the race kit ECM on just for him. |

If you really want one have your local dealer call around the country because they are out there. Some shops have several in stock and if you talk nice to them they will sell it to you and ship it. I live in Cali and I got mine from a dealer in Iowa. only took about a week. It is worth putting in the extra work to get it before they are all gone. |

I have to learn more about that exhaust valve function. Thanks for the info once again MB182! The benefits sound great. |

Dr Greg, the race ECM has "for race use only" printed on it, if not they may have remapped the standard???? |

Awesome upgrade to an awesome bike! Got mine a few weeks ago but picking up the muffler from one HD shop, and the ECM and filter from another... Finally got it hung, TPS reset last week, and YAHOO! Not loud at all IMO, but sounds richer at all RPM's, runs cleaner down low as I hoped it would, and just added the personality that I hoped it would. Just wish I had done it sooner... |

Question, does the Buell Race Kit muffler fit on the Uly without trimming the belt guard? How about using the stock filter element with with the kit? I have concerns about K&N filters. Lastly, I'm going to have to call around to see if anyone has a race kit on the shelf! David |

Muffler fit was perfect for me, and I think that has been the norm with the folks making that mod. The only exception I have heard of, is a slight contact that some have had between the tip of their sidestand and the left side muffler tip (mine clears it fine though). As it relates to the air cleaner, I'm sure it would probably run fine, but might be programed a little rich if there is a significantly lower volume of air getting through it... I just don't think the more restrictive filter alone would make a significant enough difference to throw it off. If in fact it did, it sounds like having the race ECM remapped specifically for your set-up through someone like DaveS @ Appleton would be the hot set-up. Just a thought... |

So...if your Uly pulls cleanly from well below 2,000 rpm (and runs flawlessly at all speeds) does that mean you already HAVE the race kit? Mine is stock, and after a TPS reset and some miles it behaves as you describe once warm. It's still a bit weird when cold. But I can live with that. |

I've had the race kit since new, not entirely happy with the throttle response. That's now changed as I just had the second service done at another dealer and it's gained heaps, smoother, more power and quieter???? |

I have been waiting for my race ECU to go with my drummer for around 2 months now. The ECU's are backordered. What sucks is I have been holding off on my 1K service for about 2 weeks now so I can get the tps done at the same time. I have a couple trips planned but after seeing the exhaust tests I really want to make sure my mixture is richened up just a little before I really through the mileage on it. Does anyone have any leads on the ECU's being in stock anywhere? (I know as soon as I type this DaveS will be receiving mine from Buell and shipping it out). I just want to get out and ride my Uly but my summer is wasting away and I am now going through withdrawls from not riding. |

I know Lakeshore Harley Davidson/Buell has the race air filters and ECU's in stock. I just bought one and they had I think 3 more. They were also expecting whole race kits with mufflers. Can't say if they got the kits though. |
