Hey Captain,

How did you tint your screen on the Uly? It looks great. I'm thinking that I need to do that for my black Uly.

Thanks,

David

Man, that looks GOOD Captain! Did you spray just the back of the screen or tint the whole thing?

The black pipes just look plain wicked!

Hiya Lads... Yeah I Sprayed it... BUT ONLY THE BACK~!!!!

OK... the Stuff I used was Called "Nite Shades" it's made by VHT.

It's a smallish can of net wt 7oz.

It TOTALLY as ya can see Blends the Screen INTO the bike, n fer the Orange Bikes, takes away some of the OverPowerin Colour.

Ok, n ow It's CRITICAL Whenya Paint it to have Screen Clean (obviously) and to do SEVERAL Light Coats... first Couple hardly are Noticeable but DO NOT Whack more on UNTIL each coat is REALLY dry... It'll take bout a Dozen Coats.... You'll Always be able ta tell it's Painted from the Inside, but from the Outside aka the Main Area Folks are gonna swee, She Looks Flash harry Like a Shop Bought one.

Good Luck Groovers... I'm Glad I have Given yas some Ideas...
Makes me all warm Inside and Hence I better ave a Beer or Two ta Cool Down.

Hey cool shots! What was the reason you drilled holes down near the oil filter?

Also if you get a CeeB screen you can get it tinted. I've got light smoke on my black Uly.

I'm with Chad. 6500mi on the bike. Just gets better and better. Changed the oil, lubed and adjusted all the cables (hey, I used to have BMW's I felt I needed to do SOMETHING with the cables). And cleaned the airbox and TB (I must be overfilling the oil a wee bit).

Just an amazing and FUN bike.

Had it out in Colorado running some forrest roads. The coolest was seeing it covered in mud, all but the tires, which were clean/black sidewall to sidewall, having been properly ridden in the twisties.

Hi everyone,

New to the forum. I appreciate Chad's contributions regarding the ULY. I enjoyed his contributions to Eor's thread over on ADVrider and for me he saved that thread as I'm pretty high on the bike and Eor was never right for it (or vice versa) and I could tell he was going to dump it from early on in the thread.

Still it was a good thread and I learned a lot and I appreciate Eor's efforts.

I hope I'm not violating any conventions being here as I don't have a bike yet. I WILL be getting big dual-sport within a month or so however and currently the Uly is at the top of my list.

In the spirit of Chad's thread here I wanted to put in a positive word for one Harley dealer anyway that seems to be truly on board with Buell. Central Texas Harley in Austin. Seems like a great shop. Dan Payne was very pleasant to deal with today over there. They had a lot of Buells (although the poor things had to sit out in the over 100 degree parking lot) and Dan even rode one into the pleasantly cool showroom for me to check out more closely.

Another sales person (I forgot his name) came out to talk with me along with Dan who is the Buell guy over there. They drug out the latest cataloges for me to look at and very forthrightly answered all my questions.

Then another really nice guy who teaches the MSF course and runs the rental desk came out and added some great comments and insights. He seemed quite high on the Uly and had good things to say about this board.

This was such a positive experience compared to most shops. Really really positive. I doubled my enthusiasm for the Buell marque just from this visit as a good dealer is extremely important to me. Though I used to ride a Harley they just aren't my thing anymore and it was good to be helped by a bunch of Harley guys who know and respect the Buell bikes.

I'll be renting a Uly from them soon for a good long weekend testing experience. Can't wait.

Scottr,
If during your rental you get turned off by the lack of wind protection, fear not. I too wondered if I'd ever get a decent windshield on my ULY and I finally did. Works great. http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/142838/213105.html?1153324321
The ULY is a very nice bike and my Electraglide is wondering if I'll ever get back on.
