I sent my Uly in for a timing reset and replace the missing lens cap for my license plate. Right now after a week at the dealer, and no phone calls from the dealer during this time frame, I am told it is on nationwide back order. So I'm told they can not release it for safety reasons. This is crazy. Bike has 3k on it, it's been fun. Any words of wisdom out there.

Go to the dealer and look at the bike. Sounds like somebody is hiding something. Of course thats just me being in suspicious lawyer mode.

If they don't let you see it for any reason, something is wrong, and somebody is being dishonest to you. Legal assistance might be in order.

The strange thing is that the replacement part for the crappy Uly LP lights is a different part number than the LP light used on all the XB-S models, yet the LP light for the XB-S models is a bolt on replacement. It lines up exactly, same stud spacing, same thread, but it is slightly different. The XB-S model lights use a fuse style bulb, the original and replacement Uly is a regular socket bulb. But the housing size and mounting is virtually identical, and the connectors are the same.

Tell them to put an XB-S light on it and release the damned bike. I have plenty of them kicking around the shop if they need one, they often come back to me on the XB-S tail cores. I've got bunches. I used on on my Uly when the POS stocker broke.

I was at my local dealer yesterday to get the lens cap replaced (cracked) and to get a new muffler.(rust) They said the lens cap was on backorder, but should be available by July 13th. Muffler was available, but had to be ordered. The interesting thing on the muffler is that it will be replaced only once during the unlimited two year warranty. After the replacement, the cost of just the muffler is $459.00. Hopefully the replacement is rust proof.

Hopefully the replacement is rust proof.
Wish full thinking. It is not.
