I've been riding the last couple of weeks without any shield at all. Just around town and no more than 60mph. Pretty warm here in Omaha, Nebraska and the wind is clean and buffet free except for the buffeting caused by the helmet straps by my ears. It's a DOT approved 1/2 helmet. Just too hot for the full face helmet. Can't see taking any long trips this way, but for around town it sure feels nice. This ULY sure is fun.

I have been riding without a windshield for ~1 month now. Less buffetting and a bit cooler around town (Orlando).

Hi guys,

I've been thinking about trying that.

How's it at say 80mph?

Jim,

I like it better sans windshield at all speeds. Of course I am used to riding a X1.
Best I can describe it is more wind BUT less buffetting.

If it weren't for the helmet straps, I wouldn't have any buffeting wind noise at all. 60 mph is the fastest that I have been riding this way around town. Feels nice.
