Local H-D dealer wants over $300.00 retail for a set of Dunlop D616 (install not included)....best price I found on-line was $217.00 b4 shipping and they are all on back-order.
I have a trip at the end of the month and want to get a new set of sneakers......

I had good luck with Bridgestone Battlaxx 014's on my other Buells. I might go with them.
I'm also looking into changing my own tires, I'm just tired of paying high prices to change tires..

This seems like a nice set-up, but pricey:

Harbor Freight sells a good set up for motorcycles. If you can catch it on sale it is even better. As far as tires go the best prices I have found on tires lately is from Ron Ayers.

I'm going to get the Harbor Freight tire changer tomorrow. It's on sale also $79.90

I should have done this years ago

Bob, you can save shipping and just pick it up in person, there is a store in Arlington Heights.

Be warned, the clamps the HF changer comes with barely clamp onto the Uly rim. AND I had issues clearing the pulley.

I gave up and took it to LS-HD and paid them ~$36. My friend Ron is making new bits for his H-F changer to make things easier.

Bob,
you need both pieces....the Motorcycle Tire Changer Attachment is meant to be used with the Portable Tire Changer but both are sold separately. That why mine was 79 bucks. read the review

I ordered both pieces. Shipping was another 10 bucks.

Steve, when your friend modifies the HF changer to better suit the Uly, let me know. Maybe he could rig up another set for me. I'll pay of course.

You know, tire irons and rim protectors do a pretty good job and aren't THAT hard to use. Scrap 2x4's and a handy stationary object (like the exposed studs on your garage wall) will make a cheap/easy bead breaker.
