Looking for comments from anyone who has tried the Factory Tall Shield and the Cee Bailey's +2.5 or +4.5". Looking for your comments on which one worked better for you. I am around 5'-11" and use the stock seat. Are the +4.5" staying on or are they subject to "launch"? Comments, both pro and con would be appreciated.
Thanks

I have the Cee Bailey's +2.5. I ordered the dark smoke color which I like on my Black Uly. I am 5'8'' and have a low seat. There is less buffeting than the stock screen. No problems with the windscreen to this point. Good luck.

Porster,
Have them make you one that bolts on and then you don't have to worry about decapitation. I cut down a 14" to 4" over stock height. It replaces both the windscreen and the plastic that covers the horn and wiring. It's also is wider and gives more protection. Looks good.

I actually own a 2.5# Cee Baileys, and have had absolutely no issues with the screen popping off, even at interstate speeds. Are people having problems with the 2.5 coming off? I've not heard anything about that.

I can't compare it to the Buell tall screen, but the CB screen offers a significant improvement in wind protection over the stocker, without feeling like you're sitting behind a barn door and without having to take a hacksaw to a very expensive, brand new screen. It's the screen the bike should have come with.

I've had a Cee Bailey +2.5" for quite a while now and love it. NEVER any problems with it coming off or getting loose.
It's a great product that does what it's supposed to do.

Anyone go the other way and try their Uly with the windshield removed?

I have the low seat and with stocker I get more buffeting than I'd prefer. If I stand on the pegs at freeway speeds I'm up in clean air and get blissful silence.

I'd sure like to figure out how to get that while seated. I think I'll pull the stocker this weekend and see what happens.

I too have the CB +2.5 and really like it. I'm 6'4" tall and the wind hits me at the top of my sternum, clean air around my head. The dealer here in Belgium that did my 1K service liked it so well that he is going to contact CB and see about importing them.
I just returned from a five day trip to France and I rode in 25-35 mph wind with gusts up to 55-60 mph at speeds up 100 mph and the screen never flinched. I think a lot of that is due to the fact that CB added a small bumper on the inside of the screen that makes contact with the fly screen and prevents it from going too far back. I wouldn't want a taller screen either. One time while riding into a good head wind I ducked my head down to see how far down I would have to go to start having buffeting issues and it was about 3 inches. That test confirmed that I had made the right choice going with the +2.5 vs the +4.5.

I took my bike out for a spin on the interstate today with no windshield. I like the clean air better than the buffetting I get with the stock and tall Buell screens. Give it a try!

YMMV

I am looking for a taller screen myself. I am 6'6" withe the stock seat. Does anyone have any info about where the various taller screens throw their wind. I am kind of leaning towards the 14" but my concerns are about stability and buffeting. was not the breakage issues dealt with by solidly screwing the the sheild to the fairing? thanks T3
