The wife and I are planning a Uly trip to Colorado this July. Looking for any suggestions of "must see" locations or roads while in Colorado. I have been there twice, but never on a bike. I'm not too concerned about places to see along the route there, as we will probably just hit the slab and get there so we have more time to spend in Colorado. Thanks in advance for any insights! | |||

July will be a perfect time to go through Rocky Mountain National Park. I did that last July and the scenery is great. You will go pretty slow through the park because it has lots of tourist. Stop in Estes Park and take the backroads directly to Black Hawk / Central City (casino town!) Those roads you can really rip on since there is not much traffic. You won't find many bad roads in Colorado.  This is Bear Lake in Evergreen, CO. If you go here, be sure to stop at the Little Bear Saloon. | |||

Have fun and ride safe. Many of us would love to do that trip on a Uly. Enjoy. Nice thing about being on a bike when traveling, You don't have to listen to the wife or girlfriend nattering in your ear. LOL | |||

Here's a route that will take you a couple of days, but you'll remember it for a lot longer. Starting in Colorado Springs, take CO Rt.115 south to Florence where you pick up Rt.67 south. In Wetmore, pick up Rt.96 to Westcliff, then Rt.69 north to U.S. Rt. 50. Take U.S.50 to Gunnison, then take Rt. 92 along the Black Canyon until you hit Rt.133 which takes you to Carbondale. In Carbondale, you'll take Rt. 82 east through Aspen and over Independence Pass (12,095 Ft.). When you get to US Rt. 24 go east and that will bring you back to Colorado Springs. Be prepared to stop and take a ton of pictures. My wife and I did this route last August, and if you take it, you'll be awestruck. | |||

Check out the peak to peak hwy between Lyons and Nederlands on your way too or from Rocky Mountain National park. And hey, give me a hollar when your here... I'm in Fort Collins and will join you for part of the drive  | |||
