I know everybody has an opinion, but I would like to hear the good ones. I am not rich but please don't tell me how cheap you can get some chen-shin-like tires from Jc whosawhatsit. I have heard the Synchs from the xb9sx are the way to go. I like to ride the bike really hard on the street. | ||

Care about offroad at all? If not, I'd get some street tires. Depending on the balance of stick vs. life would narrow down the choices. | ||

My syncs will last about 4,500 miles versus 2,500 for the original Dunlap's. My next tire is going to be the Pilot Road as I have some long trips planned this month. I know guys that run the Pilot Road tire on their BMW RTs and are happy with them...granted they are not he ultimate aggressive sport tire but they might be a good balance between performance and longevity.. | ||

I have a very long (8,000 mile or so)ride planned for this summer. I'll be putting Avon Azaro AV45 & AV46 tires on my Uly. I had them on my M2 and they gave me good traction in wet and dry conditions, and they wear like iron. I'm pretty impressed with them. | ||

Installed Dunlop Qualifers this weekend,did 300mi. trip. Great tires no more'swimming' feel on pavement. | ||

Hey Chadhargis, how many miles do you have on your Diablo stradas and how are they wearing? I'm coming up on 3000 mi. on my stock tires and the rear looks about 1/2 gone. I'm sure the second 1/2 will go faster. I'm still not sure what I'm going to replace it with. I'm a 15K mi. a year guy and can't blow my whole riding budget on tires. Tim | ||

I wore my stock Dunlops out at 2000 miles. The rear was WAY gone, and the front was badly cupped. So far, the Stradas have about 1200 miles on them, and still look brand new. In fact, just got a nail in the rear tire and it's at the shop getting patched (no flames please, I know some don't believe in patching). I had two sets of them on my FJR1300, and they wore like iron and stuck like glue. The next best tire I've ever used was the Michelin Pilot Road, but it tended to square off in the center due to the big torque of the FJR and my heavy right hand.  | ||

I just wore out the stock dunlops and need new rubber. I am debating between contiroad attacks and stradas. I do most of my riding on the street with the occasional detour onto a dirt road/logging road/pipeline. I am looking for a tire with increased wear since I typically do at least 8k miles a year. Any suggestions. Thanks. | ||

Diablo Stradas. Ask Chadhargis how he likes his. I ordered mine already as I am going to change my rear tire before my holiday. I had Stradas on my M2 and thought they were the cats derriere. | ||

Stradas are doing fine. Just got my rear tire patched due to a nail in it. I'll be mounting it back up tonight and continuing to pile miles on these fine tires. | ||

I had a slow puncture in the original rear tyre which I just couldn't cure so I replaced both with Syncs. The bike is definitely more stable at highway speeds but I can't say they feel any different to me on the twisties. | ||

for great mileage and stability, I thought the avon azaro, AV45/AV46 were excellent tires. I got 11k miles out of a set, far better mileage than any tire I have used. They handled well considering the life they had. | ||

Are the punctures a factory option, I've had bikes for 35 years without a puncture and have had 2 in 2 months on the Uly??? Could the tread pattern or compound be contributing? | ||

Brat, Yes. I never had a puncture either. Got one on the Uly on the day I rode it home from the dealership. I plugged it myself and 2700 miles later it's doing fine. Regards, Jim in Santa Barbara | ||

Hey thanks Lorazepam! Avon Azaro AV45-ST/AV46-ST I've heard good things from others on this tire so I think that's what I'm going for on the next set. They are the only ones that seem to be advertizing "Exceptionally long life" directly on their site. BC Steve | ||

This is very important! After mounting new tire clean it thoroughly and break it in gently. I found out the hard way after getting a nail in my D616 rear and new tire mounted. They had sprayed silicone all over it. First turn out of the driveway was like riding on ice. I spilled the Uly on the right side. I got road rash on right shoulder. The Uly faired about the same as me. Mirror, bar end, hand guard, brake lever, turn signal, foot peg, face shield. Can you believe I got all these parts for $120. I am so lucky no broken bones and no scratches on the swingarm, frame, or forks. Please go easy on the new tire, I was and still went down. |
