Buell apparently invited the MC Magazine jocks to do a 2-day dirt school in CA ... on Ulys. The school is run by Jim Hyde for people who wants to learn how to handle larger bikes in the dirt. He himself started out on BMW GS bikes.

Short story: the writer from MCN, Steve Natt, came away impressed with how well the Uly handles in the dirt. Apparently Jim Hyde was impressed by how well the Uly handled dirt as well. fresh tires with nice sharp edges on the tread blocks makes a big difference in "grip."
