When does the year model change occur for the Ulysses?

Can you please explain clearly what is gained or lost by going to the race kit ecm/exhaust/filter?

Any hints about changes in the new model year Uly?

Thanks and keep up the great anonymous product developments!

Thats better than Viagra: Do you need a tank shield to protect the paint?

seriously...(yea right!) does it cure the low speed roughness? What is the apparent increase in noise?

Got the race kit & DirectLink re-programed race ECM from DaveS. I believe it is re-programmed to #2 per the dyno graph listed somewhere here. This combo is aimed at more low end. IT WORKS!!! Pulls smoothly from +/- 1,500 rpm.

I absolutely cannot abide by noisy pipes. The race muffler is very acceptable. On the bike, sound increases when you accelerate "briskly." Away from it, you barely hear it.

It also removes the lean area at constant mid-rpm where the stock bike slightly "hunts" or surges.

As Chad has said in one of the threads, "it makes the bike run as it should have from the factory".

From what I've seen, every year the bikes are available in 2 colors. Black & Color-of-the year. So next year I expect to see Baracade Orange disappear and be replaced by something else.

Man, it will be like a 64-1/2 Mustang all over again, instant classic. I guess the Injection Molding guys were working too much overtime trying to keep up with the Orange and they need to come up with something a little less extravagant.

Doug,

I'm no anonymous, but I can help on some of your questions, I think. : )

Give or take a week, the new 2007 models usually arrive in showrooms by early August if I recall accurately.

I cannot comment with any surety on the race kit and race ECM issue. I understand what they are supposed to do, but don't have a good feel for actual practice on the XB12 machines.

On behalf of our group, we resemble that remark.

I worked for two years in injection molding. Bright colors are a royal PITA. I'm still waiting for 420 green or Briar bush purple in a translucent!

Chrisb; what is the problem with the bright colors and moldings?

Simple..Contamination it rears its ugly head in many forms. Dust, color on a job three presses away, somebody was flicking little pieces of material around and it winds up in the raw material, etc, etc. I could go on for hours.
Side note: It would be cool to hunt down the factory that is making the body parts. Grab a set or two of rejects for painting.
