I just got a real lesson on how important it is to have the Uly suspension set-up right. I got my bike back from an extended service (Drummer transit time) and rode to work. The ride was so squirrelly on the freeway that I thought I had a flat tire. I now know what folks are talking about when they refer to a high-speed wobble. When I got home I decided that the settings must have "drifted" and checked them. They were *way* off. I made the appropriate adjustments and she was back to normal form. I don't know if they naturally drift, or if something (or someone) happened. Has anyone else had their settings change on them after a thousand miles or so? fubar |

In my experience suspension settings don't just drift. Henrik |

Somebody dicked with your settings until they were, uh, Fubar. No question. Next time I drop my bike off, I'll have to pepper it with notes, like "Do not adjust the clutch play---I set it just like it is because I WANT it that way." But, if you do choose to use a service dept., I think it'll all be smooth once you get to know eachother. |

Fubar, Suspension settings don't drift. Someone changed them. I have had a problem with people walking up to the Uly and twisting the rear shock spring knob that sticks out under the seat. Amazing that people do this but I have seen it happening.... |

I had my knob twisted once and that was enough for me. |

I noticed the rear spring softens up after a bit. |

I have not had mine change by themselves. But If I leave the preload cranked all the way up and get on it w/o the g/f I notice it getting squirly. |
