Howdy,

Anyone know the hard bag inner dimensions for the Uly sidecases?

I can measure 'em when I get home but need to order some stuff, want it to fit inside if possible.

Regards,

Jim in Santa Barbara

Hello Kristi,

Thanks!

I thought "no way!" then I realized your measurements are in CM.

50 x 30 x 29 cm = 19.68" x 11.81" x 11.42" inches.

I'm heading to Death Valley next weekend, wanted to get a tent that would fit in the hard luggage. 5 x 18 should be perfect.

Best,

Jim in Santa Barbara

I deleted the post because I realized that it was cm and then probably the outer dimensions. Was waiting for Carlos to get home to have him measure the inside of the bags.

We purchased a small 2-3 person tent from Target. It fits in the side bag with the pole running through the framework for the top bag and tail section. Tent was $30 or so and was one of the uni-pole set-ups.

Sorry I didn't get back sooner. Between children, dinner and getting ready for March Badness in GA things have been crazy here.

Hi Kristi,

No worries, once you tossed that out there I figured out how to track it down on the 'net. And my cell phone converts metric to SAE.

I wanted small & light gear anyway because I'll be doing some back country riding on my dirt bike as well, just was hoping to squeeze the gear into a Uly side case when possible. I think it'll be fine.

Thanks,

Jim

Just a comment on the side bags. Last night I placed both of our helmets in one bag. Closed it and locked it. Nice.

cavernous space in these side bags.. an option for more cargo space .. try dry bags purchased from outdoor outfitters and paddlesport shops... various sizes colours...

Yep, great bags.

I was able to get a 2 man tent, ground cloth, sleeping bag and pillow into the left side case and had room leftover!

Couldn't fit the Therm-a-rest pad in; it was too long for any of the cases so I bungeed it to the beaver tail on the pillion pad.

There is something comforting about knowing that all your luggage is securely locked to your bike.

Only issue is I can't use the helmet lock when the left side case is attached. I'll need to get one of those "extenders".

Best,

Jim
