Put a couple hundred miles on the bike this past weekend with the Cee Bailey's +2.5" screen.

I've learned over a few thousand miles of riding, that bigger isn't always better, so I opted for the +2.5" screen over a taller unit. So far, so good. The screen moved the windblast up from my chest to just below my shoulders. My head remains in clean air, so there is no nasty buffeting. It seems to be a good compromise of protection, smoothness, and ventilation. I'm still getting plenty of air, but I'm not getting blasted as much as the stocker. The Cee Baileys is wider, and has a little duck tail like flip at the top. Evidently this works. Quality is top notch. I've owned CB products before, and they used to put a sticker on their screens with the company logo on it. Now it is etched into the screen and looks very nice. Edges are nicely polished. They even include the mounting posts, and a small rubber bumper to keep the screen from bending back and contacting the fairing at higher speeds.

Hi Chad,

I'm not as tall as you (uh, most people aren't BTW, how's the weather up there? ) and with the low seat I think the stock height works fine for me.

BUT - I was think that an additional 2 or 3" in width might be very nice at higher speeds.

Regards,

Jim in Santa Barbara

I got mine a couple of weeks ago. I'm 6'2" and it did get the air of my chest. I don't feel like a wind sail anymore. I can feel it on my shoulders but not to much and clean air on my helmet. When I first got this one I rode without my ear plugs.. rode sitting then standing to make sure the helmet was in clean air.. really no difference. I'll stick with this one for most of my riding. My only complaint is that occasionally at idle the vibration causes the rubber bumper to rattle on the fly screen (The bumper doesn't touch the fly screen until you go fast enough to push it)

I'm glad you're happy with yours. Mine should be here on Wednesday. I'm not quite 5'10" so I'm hoping the screen will push the wind blast closer to my shoulders without helmet buffeting.

I'm waiting to hear how you like your + 2.5 from CB Roadrailer. I'm 5'9 and have the low seat and stock windscreen. I took my first extended 75-80 mph ride yesterday and had a sore neck from the windblast. I just canceled my order for the Buell +4" screen as it seemed to be back ordered forever. I thought I would wait to see what was working well for other non giants like me.

I had the sore neck issue as well. My local dealer said it would be May before the Buell screen would be available. Besides, the Cee Bailey looks to be a better piece.

Tried it out today. Awesome is all I can say. It moves the windblast from mid-stomach to slightly below my armpits. Flow over the top of the screen is smooth; no buffeting of the helmet. Highway cruising up to 80 mph is not longer a test of upper-body strength. I really think anything else would be overkill.

It's a must buy if you have any intention of touring on the Uly.

How well do you guys think this shield will work for a guy who is 6ft 4in? I'm trying to decide between this shield or a laminar lip. Thanks in advance!

I think Chad is your size, so he could give a more informed opinion, but I think it would be a huge improvement over the stocker. For me, any taller would probably cause helmet buffeting.

Can one of you post a picture of the +2.5 CB on your bike?

I'm 6'5" and it accomplished what I wanted. I'm not a long distance, hit the interstate and ride 12 straight hours sort of guy. Maximum wind protection was not my goal. I actually enjoy the wind hitting me. It's part of the fun for me. I wanted to move the air up from my lower chest, to my shoulders. The +2.5 did that and I don't get any buffeting as my head is in clean air.

I considered the laminar lip, but it is pretty fugly. I've used them before, and they work great, just decided to try the Cee Bailey's first. I'm pleased with it.

As for what it looks like, pretty much like the stock screen. You can't tell much difference. In fact, not one single person has noticed I have a new windshield on the bike.

Had mine out for a 300mi run at all sorts of speeds today.

My thoughts echo Bosh's here:

Oh, no rubber bumper on mine, just the 4 mounting posts.

I just got the +4 1/2 from Cee Bailey and I love it. It took the wind off my chest and shoulders and breaks most of the direct wind from pulling my head off at +90 MPH speeds. A little more wind noise but I wear plugs. The windshield also looks good, not like the big tall ones that screw on the bike. I am 5-8 with a Buell low seat.

I did some slab with my +2.5" and discovered that it's actually better if I sit bolt upright than leaning forward. The windblast hits me in the shoulders if I'm sitting up straight, but if I lean forward, my helmet gets in the dirty air, and my body forms a big parachute.

90mph was fine as long as I didn't lean forward.
