Put another 800 miles on my Ulysses since Thursday. Back and forth to Daytona twice and a lot of riding in between. Now have 9300 miles on my her and gotta say that I still love this bike.

Snow in San Francisco this weekend...SNOW!!!

I blame myself for the freakish weather. Who the h#%% buys a new bike in January?

*sigh*

I went for a ride in +/- 15 degree weather yesterday here in Idaho! Man it was cold. I even put her down for the first time right at the end of my 1/2 mile long, snow covered driveway. Broken gearshift...Touratech ordered immediately after, which I hope to have soon. There's a heat wave coming soon and it's gonna get into the fortys one of these days!
I think these insanely cold rides I've been trying to go on are directly caused by "buying a new bike in January and living in cold, ski country syndrome"...or something.

I was out today and yesterday. Riding back roads, and a small amount of highway. This is the first bike I have owned that gets its own headlight dirty.

Spring in Amish country means lots of extra horse manure on the roads, both from extra horse traffic, and the manure spreaders heading out to the fields.
Lots of sand and mud to go along with the poop.

I was following no one and stopped after 30 really drizzly miles, and the headlight was filthy.

Does anyone know if the lightning long front fender will fit? I may give it a try if I cant think of anything else to do. (fender extender facing front with a brace installed.)

thanks brotherbuell. I guess I will invest in one. I manage to attract rain about one day out, until the last day out on any trip.

You might want to hold off on the front fender. Al over at American Sportbike has been working on this, and has found that the fender from the Ss mounts fine, but doesn't provide enough protection for the forks.

He's got a new fender mocked up, and we're all hoping it's available for purchase soon.

I suppose if your Uly won't see the dirt at all, maybe it's not a big issue for you, but I'm holding out to see what Al comes up with.

I was trying to track down the thread with the photos of the prototype but wasn't spotting it.

I have seen that fender. I hope it gives decent coverage both front and rear, because the current fender sucks in the wet. Guess I will wait and see how that one looks.
