My demented side likes the orange not to mention cagers should be able to see the flyscreen. Yet to see a black in person. It doesnt seem as exciting in the photos |

Which tastes better; vanilla or chocolate? I bought an orange Uly. The black just didn't do it for me. The first time I saw one in orange, it called to me. It doesn't matter what color you get; the cagers still won't see you. |

Cagers should be able to see a lot of things except they aren't paying any attention to where they are, what they are doing or what else is around them. Black is beautiful, baby, just like the B1 stealth bomber or the SR71 blackbird aircraft. |

I didn't decide on black until I saw the orange one in person. |

The cool part about a Uly is that if you get tired of the color you bought, you can always change the plastic and pick up a seat on e-bay. Orange gets more "what the heck was that", looks. People also don't seem to notice the middle aged fat guy riding it as much either. |

I had a "reactor yellow" X1 with a full face helmet to match. I saw both the orange and black Uly and immediately crossed over to the dark side. The orange flyscreen is bright but I think (hope)oncoming cages see the headlight first. I can't see any differences in the type or number of "close calls" I've had since I sold the yellow. |

Why be so hard on yourself? Just buy two, like I did.

There are folks in here that will spout statistics for colored stuff being more visible and making the rider less prone to accident, but while that may be true, I maintain that 100% of the drivers that run you down will say they did not see you whether they did or not, and regardless of what color your bike is. So, ride whatever you want. See and avoid. |

I'm getting a black one, because the orange will clash horribly with my Hi-Viz Aerostich Roadcrafter... I'm such a fashion . |

I will be honest. I too like the orange. However, I went with the black. I thought the orange, after a while would wear on me. If you get the black you can always but the fly screen and air box cover in orange. I believe a couple of guys on here have done so and if I remember it was only around $200 or so. |

Well just took the ORANGE ONE for it's first ride of the season! Golly it was great! ORANGE looks so good against the dull colors from winter. ORANGE wear on you? What was that person thinking? |

I'm undecided. As soon as my orders are in place and I'm grounded somewhere, I'll prolly impulse buy. Black is a calling though...Orange will show less dirt. |

Black is the only to go orange. I hate to hurt so many feelings out there but that orange looks more like pee yellow to me |

the sophomoric jabs from the legions of black uly owners, will do nothing to the moral of the true believers. we know we have the moral high ground and will not relinquish it over some dick and fart jokes...ok, ok, maybe some of us will, but not this early. btw, that should have read "the man in...", not "that man in...".} |

UGGGGGG.......... Some men you just can't reach......... Everyone knows that the black ones are faster. It is true that cagers are color blind, but the police only see orange!

Chris, Here is proven methodology to make the decision. Plan to go into work a little late tomorrow morning. Stand at the edge of the driveway until the school bus comes. Close you eyes and burn that color into your brain cells. Now map that color onto the coolest bike you'll ever own. It's just not right! You will never realize the full capabilities of the Uly because you will have the uncontrollable urge to stop every three hundred feet. |

I am going for Black, I was tipping over to the Dark side when I posted this question but my mind is made up at this point. If the seat didnt have that orange stripe I would have gone orange. At least with the black I can just get a flyscreen and airbox cover if I want to switch. Who knows maybe for '07 there will be a nice translucent green and they could call it "420 green". Or a purple and call it blackberry smash. And for those that still ride with the HD crowd, "distressed leather" that will use only the finest naughahyde from baby naugha's carefully hand distressed for that perfect look. |

Brotherbuell, you are right, I have this uncontrollable urge on my "school bus orange" Uly, to stop every three hundred feet and pick up those waving cheerleaders looking for a ride! It's tough riding such a sexy color but, I am too old for those young ladies. |

Hey Dragon, have you not heard that song " I may not be as good as I once was, but I am as good once as I ever was" You are never too old as long as you can fling that leg over a bike, even if it is a orange one. |
