I moved my GPS from my old bike, and used ram mounts to attach it to the handlebar. I hard wired under the front screen, using a live feed from the ignition circuit.
I wanted the power to be available with the key off. That way you can use the trip meter and timer, and not worry about losing the information.
Here is the GPS on the bar. I also added shrink tubing to the ubolt to avoid marring the bar.

It took about 45 minutes to do the whole job, and I dont have to fool with a power plug in the power outlet.
