Took my Uly on some power line roads & although the suspension feel compliant and fairly plush the ride is rather harsh due to what I think is because I was running "street air pressure" in my D616's.(about 38psi). Running "hard" tires like this also concerns me for the durability of my tires on sharp rocks. This summer I plan to ride alot of combination asphalt/rough gravel roads & would like to find a tire pressure that allows a compramise between safety/handling on the street & comfort/traction on very rough dirt/gravel roads.I also plan to have full camping gear And touring gear for extended trips. This extra weight compounds my concerns for tire damage. Any ideas, concerns, advise? Thanks.

An easy fix would be to carry a small 12v DC air compressor on your bike. That way you can lower it slightly for off road and then pump it back up when you hit the street. Wally World has some fairly tiny compressors for about 10 bucks.

I've considered that but my storage space is at a premium. I also dont want to have to be airing up then down at every changing road condition. (which could be 4 or 5 times daily). The compressor might be a great idea considering the Uly's power ports. Thanks.

My bike has been running great, but the other day before a ride I thought I'd check the pressure, they were both at about 25 pounds!

I take 10 pounds out of the front and rear when offroad, works great for me!
