Here is the first prototype of our extended front mudguard for the Uly. It bolts straight up to the stock side pieces and is around 4" longer at the front and 2.5" longer at the rear. This one will be undergoing some high mileage testing in the next few weeks, but I would be interested to see what you think of it: )

The rear edge is very close to the Chin spoiler, but it remains to be seen if it actually touches under hard braking.

Nice... Am interested if there are not surprises during the tests.

Are you planning on one that extends a bit further forward so you can get rid of the bird beak?

I second Crusty.....I LIKE IT!!!!!
If the rear does contact the chin spoiler, are you going to reduce the rear a bit? How about some more in the front to eliminate the upper half fender. Most concerns are with the top as I have been reading and not so much the back/bottom.
SUPER LOOKING JOB..KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK

We can extend the front part of it no problem. If the rear catches the chin spoiler then we will have to take a bit off there. This is the first one we have tried on a bike so will see how it fares. It is being tested in Ireland, so should have no shortage of rain to cope with : )

Wow, I really like it.
The carbon will be protected from crash impact and will of course reduce un-sprung weight while the stock plastic sides maintain their durability (and hopefully keep the cost reasonable). I like the looks of "the beak" so keeping the size of the new mudguard as small as possible while performing it's intended purpose (well) is important to me. Shaving an inch or so off the back wouldn't hurt looks or performance IMHO. I'll probably buy one!

I like it too! I think it might look better (to me) if it were longer in the front and slightly shorter in the rear. However, I will prefer whatever would perform better than stock. I'd shift the dimensions equally on each end toward the front and by probably just shy of the width of the tread pattern.

Don't take that as a criticism, though. I love the idea.

I like it, but will there be a version for the XBR/S models?
