I finished this project last night. I had a friend cut out a piece of 1/4 aluminum the shape of the top of the tankbag, with three oval holes matching the attachment points for the mapcase. Then we attached an L bracket, to which I attached the mount for my Garmin 2610.

I pop riveted the bracket for my Roady II XM receiver to the little detachable bag on the back of the tankbag, and ran the antenna wire under the seat, then stuck the magnetic antenna on a bracket by the seat latch.

The whole thing powers up with a coiled cord cig lighter with a Y connector plugged into the switched power source on the dash.

Now, with a set of Shure E2C headphones, I have music, and I can easily see the road directions on the GPS, and also still see the factory dash instruments.

Plus, the whole package pops off with three fastloks, to be carried inside with me, or stuck in the lockable luggage.

Nice setup. Will the mounting plate and GPS fit inside the bag?

Nice setup. I have attached my
gps to the bars, and hard wired it to the bike. I am really impressed by the tank bag. It fits well, has a lot of room, and unlike a lot of strap on tankbags, it stays in one place. Very happy I got it with the bike.

Very nice... how about a pic of the XM antenna mount? I've been looking for a better spot for mine.

How much does the gps obstruct the instrument panel view?

Great setup, does anyone know what the rubber circle on with the cruciform cuts on the removable pouch is for? My wife and have stared at ours and can't figure it out.

Thanks

Guy,

I think it's for earphone cords. You can throw a CD player in the pouch set for continuous play and run your cord right into the bag. I have several backpacks with this feature.

the GPS is back far enough it does not impair visibility of the dash at all, the XM antenna wire runs under the seat, and is stuck on a metal bracket back by the seat latch
