My Quest GPS unit arrived today with the motorcycle mounting kit included.

The problem is, you need a "third party mount" to mount the Garmin motorcycle mount on!

I know this issue has been addressed, but I can not find a link to order a ram mount system for this darn thing.

Roy, got my Quest RAM mount from cycoactive.com (same link that Rhinowerx gave you, very fast service), and I couldn't be happier. The mount accepts the power connector from the Garmin mount (you'll need a Torx T5 to remove it) so you can plug it into the 12V socket.

You will love it!

Oops, just read your post carefully, and I don't know about the Garmin "motorcycle mounting kit?"

I just got the "plain vanilla" Quest and got the RAM mount from cycoactive.com.

Good luck!

Thanks Dr_greg, I loaded some maps on the unit and played with it some in the truck on the way home, seems pretty easy to use. I am heading to Phoenix on the Uly in March to catch some spring training games, I thought it would come in handy.

All three vendors are good, but my nod goes to Cyclegadgets. They know their stuff for all sorts of bikes. And they are very easygoing about returns and the like.

I'd go with RAM too. It just has worked too well for me over the years.

Think about where you want the GPS. I like mine near the left handgrip. Easy on the eyes to scan it while looking at the left mirror and close by your hand just in case I want to zoom in/out.

Also if you're going to clamp something to the bars, I'd suggest some sort of tape or foam to prevent scratching. I've to some thin closed cell foam I've had good luck with. Needed it for another app, have ~49' left over. Shoot me an PM and I'd be glad to send you a piece.

Royintulsa- since your name implies you're in Tulsa, if you pass through Albuquerque on your way to Phoenix drop by and say hello! We could even extend a little hospitality...

How is the riding coming into and going out of Albuquerque? It looks like it is about 1/2 way from Tulsa to Phoenix. We are going to attempt to stay off the interstates, but traveling on a schedule to get to Phoenix by 6 p.m. for a Spring training game.
