Man, I should have bought a GPS long ago. It is just too cool! Only took ten min to install, thanks Dave @ Appleton (Message edited by Two_Buells on February 08, 2006) |

I'm curious how it wires into the bike. Can you share? |

Am I safe in assuming that it's weather/waterproof? I ride in anything, and wouldn't want to drop a few hundred bucks on something that can't go with me. What about the satellite receiver, (at least that's what it looks like). Is it weather/waterproof? |

Sweet setup -- I like it! I don't know if that particular sat-rec is weather proof? I do know (in fact have some empirical evidence) that the Roady2 lacks all-weather skills. G2 |

its for any weather. The unit is portable also. I drove the Jeep to work today and set the unit on the dash. wiring: you pull apart the connector that goes to the power outlet, than plug one side to one connector of the power outlet then the other plug to the other side. real easy. Yes the power outlet still works. |

If they sell it for the bike I would think it would be weather proof. |

It has to survive being submerged in 3 feet of water for a minimum of 30 minutes. That is the minimum requirement. Many have survived longer than 30 minutes. |

Tel - I use Tom Tom 5 on a PDA now and was pretty interested in a Rider until I read that review that Lowflyer just reposted the link to above. Not nearly as interested now. Jack |

I've bought a Tom Tom rider and posted my thoughts on other threads but I'm happy to repeat myself. I love it, the screen is very clear in all conditions and the re-routing is very very fast which is a great help if you take a wrong turn in town. The touch screen works very well although entering a new route with gloves on is difficult but It is possible to put as many routes in in advance from the comfort of my armchair. My only real criticism is that the helmet earpiece supplied is a little two bulky in my helmet but this is easy to replace. It is expensive but I am happy with it. It is good to be able to have the whole of Europe mapping on one card. The unit also works perfectly in my car placed in the tray in front of the gear lever without any additional aerial. |
