I want to start by thanking you all for your help on this forum. I bought a Uly when they first came out last fall. I put the break in miles on it and did the first adventure trip of my life. Went around lake Superior leaving from Detroit and making a big loop camping off the bike. I am trying to make the bike as visible as possible. I would like to run both lights at the same time and also make one yellow the other blue to stand out (any ideas where to buy these bulbs and what to use). Can I run both lights without melting the housing? Can I up the wattage on these bulbs? How do I wire both on at the same time? Has anyone put on any aux lighting? I am also getting the side panels on the luggage painted this week and will take a picture when done and post it. Thanks for your help. }} |

check this thread ....http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/142838/162375.html?1133300634 I found a thread on here over the weekend that said if you soldered the yellow and blue wires in the switch housing together it would run the low and high beam lights together when the high beam switch was on, and only the low beam when in the low beam setting. I tried it and it worked. |

I kinda like the stock configuration, I like to flash the high beam when coming up to an intersection, or see some cell phone yakin' cager pulling out of a driveway. Or if I need to get someones attention I can switch between high and low like a police car! |

with the above set-up you can still flash the high beam. you just can't do the police car flash |

I am running the dual headlight setup and it works with no problem so far. Installing a small jumper wire from the yellow to the blue solder joints with a 25W or less soldering iron seems to be the easiest and most reversible way to do the mod. Be sure to tin the jumper ends first so you can make the connection without melting the plastic. If you ever decide to go back to stock, you just remove the jumper, or cut it and tape the ends. It took me less than 20 minutes to do the mod. Most of that was waiting for the iron to heat up. Cygnus, The only difference with this set up is that the low beam stays on when you go to high beam. Everything else works the same. |
