My front right blinker all but broke off after I laid the bike over on a dirt trail a few weeks ago. I was stopped and put a foot down in a hole and the bike started to go over. I laid it down as gently as if I had done it on purpose, but the blinker somehow took the entire weight of the bike.

Anyhoo, I decided the blinkers stick out too far anyway.

This is a very simple mod that is easily reversible.







Basically, I just moved the spacer to the inside of the cowling. It can be done without removing the headlamp assembly, I had it off for another reason and it made the blinker reconfigure go easier.

Thats good to know. I was considering replacing the front signals with a pair from the rear. It looks like I'll be saving some dough for a change. Thanks for the tip.

Yeah, I had thought about replacing them with rear ones too. After looking at it, and seeing that the only difference between front and rear is the spacer and the conduit, I decided to try this instead.

I checked them after the ride to work this morning and they stayed tight. I also noticed a little less parasitic drag.

This is a good one to do if you are already replacing blinkers or if you are doing the horn vibe fix.

Great tip. I had taken one off to remove the spacer but realized the threaded rod was too long.
Never thought about putting the spacer on the inside. Great idea. Thanks for sharing.

This mod is a great one that will work on alot of jap bikes also. I've done it to a FJ1200 and a 250 ninja also. (rear only to aid clearance for soft bags). Its free, easy, looks good, & is functional. note: on the ninja the rear tire contacts the spacer slightly when the suspension bottoms, which is quite often.

Does anybody know of a clear replacement for the blinker bezel. I know it's a little thing, but I think the clear lenses look so cool.

These lenses are made in Italy. I bet if you could find out what company makes them for Buell, you might be able to have some made up. These cost $2. I wonder how much clear ones would cost.

Okay, I have two full days of riding with this and can say that they have not come loose at all. I will be keeping it this way for good.

I like the look too - I'm just thinking that at night the shortened version is more likely to get lost in the glare of the headlight. For you guys that have already done it - - comments?

I've done the rear signal mounted to front mod on my XB9S, can't believe they don't come like this. I know, USDOT regs.

As far as the lenses go, my Kymco scooters have the identical turn signal body, but they are amber. My son's 49cc Vento scooter has OEM clear lenses that will fit. They are most likely more expensive than the OEM Buell lenses.

The OEM Buell rear signal will set uou back a grand total of less than $20.
