In installing my top case I noticed that the two little screws that hold the bottom plate to the topcase which hold the bracket to the topcase are really sort of dimpled into the plastic and form a little depression. Is that normal, do your guys case look like that? Thanks for the replies. |

Thanks for replying I had to loosen them to get the bracket looser to slide the topcase on and I was afraid I had tightened them too far! Thanks. |

Has anyone tried to modify the reflector on the top case to function as a brake light? I'm here in South Florida where no cager knows how to drive and would like a head's up brake light. |

I think there was a thread on a reflector to light conversion but it faded away. I am very interested too for a extra rear light, dang cagers are too busy yakkin on the cell, eatin, make-up, etc., etc. and every way I can alert them that I'm slowin down, I want it. So anybody else have any ideas for a light conversion? Al (American Sport Bike)-your thinkin of anything? |

At a trade show I saw a wireless LED stop light that triggers from an LED break light bulb you install. The light was for your helmet or else where higher on the bike. I thought about the reflector on my rear trunk. I will be speaking to Al at American Sport Bike tomorrow and will mention it to him. ... Terry |

Why not just mount one of these: http://cgi.ebay.com/High-power-L-E-D-universal-third-brake-light-12v-S_W0QQitemZ 8032924132QQcategoryZ9895QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem |

Buelldyno_guy, I had one of those for my helmet. They work really well, unless someone else in your riding group has it too... One bike ends up triggering all of them. Lowflyer, cool item! What I was hoping to find was something that would fit between the existing reflector and the case... |

Yeah, I knew what you were after, I just thought of the bolt-on as a possible alternative. |

Lowflyer, I took the reflector off and pulled the Hi Tech Paper out of it It looks like there's room for something with a very low profile. That and a quick connector would be sweet! |

The LED board from the stock ULY tail light is low profile and comes with the connector. You might be able to fit the board in there, but the lense would need to be red since the LEDs are white. It would look cool to have two of those boards in there. |

How about this link. Here's some that would at least go on top. http://www.electricalconnection.com/other-lighting/led_misc.htm |

Biker_bob, thanks for the link. There are a couple of potential candidates on that website. I need to get an accurate measurement of how much clearance between the lens and the case. I think it might actually work |

Here are some led's that perform exactly like hyperlights. Very small. When hooked up the the brake light circuit, they flash very brightly. http://www.jcwhitney.com/autoparts/ItemBrowse/c-10101/s-10101/p-100000284582/med iaCode-ZX/appId-100000284582/Pr-p_CATENTRY_ID:100000284582 Oh by the way, I am awaiting my Uly, which is replacing a 2004 R1150RS BMW. It was this forum, and advrider that helped me make up my mind about the bike. |

My public service announcement. If you haven't done it already, lock that Ulysses luggage in place. It keeps bad things from happening to nice luggage. DAve |

Lorazepam, welcome to the club. I just got back in from riding in a driving south florida rainstorm. My Uly performed great! I couldn't be happier with my decision to trade in my Heritage. |

Dave, Are you talking about locking them with something other than the built in locking mechanism? If so, what have you done? |

Fllbikerwolf, thanks for the welcome! I had lurked for a bit as a guest, but when I made the decision to buy, figured I would sign up. I have a lot of horizontal twin experience, but not much with a V twin. I am looking forward to it. |
