I posted on the closed thread that the folks at CB's replaced the three +6 with the requested +2 and they seem to be OK. The one on mine is working great and at my 5' 8" size I get clean air right at my helmet visor, with very little at my chest. We are going to try some V.3 Micro-Swirl edging from www.saeng.com. it is a molded clip on and cost about $12 a foot. We will put it on the +2 and the stock just to see what it does. Will post what happens when we do. ... Terry

Greetings All,
I am new to the BWB site as a user but a Buell owner since 1998. The ULY is in the garage awaiting a ride today with the stock screen and the new T2 from Cee Baileys is on the way.
Daves...glad you used a black one since the other color would have clashed with your skin tone in the pics. As soon as I get it and some miles I will report good bad or indifferent.
Love the site and the info available.

T.Young,
You should of held on to the dresser. I find that I ride a lot more sedately on mine. Anyway, I drove school buses for a short time when I started college after my Marine stint. Hated backing those things up. First day out I had to back out of this acreage out in the country and I took out the back light on a telephone pole. I figured I'd be fired but it turned out to be no big deal to the bus company. I did a lot to driving teams to other towns for sporting events. We'd stop at burger joints on the way back and I'd first go in by myself and tell the manager that I'd bring in the entire bus load if I got a free meal. I always got the free meal. Win win situation.

Retired_cop,
Welcome and Happy Holidays. That XB12X makes a nice Christmas present? I picked mine up back in Sept. and have a few miles on her. I'm planning to check the engine sprocket torque while the weather is cooler. I did get out yesterday for my annual "ring in the new year/polar bear ride". It was pleasant at 40 degrees, the little beast just needed a longer warm up period.

I'm familiar with the roads in south central PA and MD too and I saw Rt 6 on the atlas and though it would be a cool road.
Cheers

Our group did our annual polar bear ride down here in Tennessee. For some strange reason, it was 75 degrees for the high. A new record breaking the old one set in 1907. When I left the house to head out for breakfast it was already 64! What a day!

The Uly performed flawlessly and I got endless stares and "what's that noise" comments regarding the fan. LOL!

I've been critical of Cee Bailey but I must admit I like that new ULY touring windshield they have come up with. I called them and talked to them about it. They recommended (for my height) the 14" Euro Cut. I was on the site when I called them and they had no pictures of the Buell with the Euro cut so they told me to click on the BMW 1100/1150RT windshields (http://www.ceebaileys.com/bmw/1100-1150rtsel.html). I almost sealed the deal over the phone but decided to think a little more about it. I sure wish someone had ridden with one of these things already. How about it DAVES.

DAVES,
The Cee Bailey touring windshield photos show it to be much more upright then the one you mounted and show photos about above. Why is that? I like the more upright mount. In fact yours looks like a different windshield than what they show. Look at this picture http://www.ceebaileys.com/buell/ulyssesws2.html
Theirs is concave above the black part. DAVES, yours is different from this one it looks to me at least.

Look at the headlights in the side view. They are hard to see, but you can make out the tops of them and how they are pointed at an angle that would be shining on the ground about three feet in front of the front wheel. They tilted the image to fit the page. Both images are stretched also. The photo editor doesn't know how to use the proportioned re-size feature in Photoshop.

Daves's pics look more realistic and un-doctored.

Sure it is. Check out the mirrors in picture at right. Angle the picture so that they are straight up and down and you have more angle. I think the reason they did this was to make the picture fit in the field. Note the turn signal on the left is cut to make further room. I'll bet the picture on the left was taken from slightly above.

Seems different to me. I'd like to hear from DAVES.

Buelldyno guy - Have you had a chance to try the Saenge edging yet on the screens? I was thinking about trying it on the stocker too. I am 5'-9" and if I sit completely upright the airflow is quieter. When I slouch it is more turbulent as the bottom of my helmet is catching the rough air off the screen. I either need to shorten the stocker, remove it or maybe this edging will help.

Electroglider,
I stand corrected. There are vast differences between the shield in the last photo you sent a link to and the one on Daves bike. Maybe CeeBailey's is still trying to get the bend right. For the record, I like the one on Daves' bike better.

I can admit when I am wrong too. It was unfair of me to have distorted Dave's head in such a grotesque manner.

Jeez, talk about giving me a big head! WOW!

I think they are going to a more "upright" bend to the windshield.
The one I have is a sample they sent me.

Daves,
Barnum and Baileys is looking for some motorcycle riding dwarfs. Is that a 14 or 16 inch windshield?

Daves,Electraglider
I have confirmation from Baileys that my shield has shipped and I should have it in about 3-4 days. As soon as I can get it mounted and put some miles on, I will report to you all. They told me it is not a sharp upward bend, but a bit more than the sample in picture from Daves. I would prefer the sample bend for the looks of it over a more upright, but wind & weather protection being key...................
The one I ordered is the big one 16" which we seem to think will work for a 6'-1" rider on the tall seat with a full face helmet. Only time, and the wind will tell.
I will keep you informed as soon as I get to ride with it on.
Tim

Craig,
On a previous thread Daves said it was the 16". I have one coming that shipped yesterday and should be here in 3-4 days per Cee Baileys. They explained that the upward bend is a bit more vertical than the one shown in the picture from Daves. If it will help, I am 6-1 and use a full face helmet all the time and have the tall seat on the bike. Baileys was very helpfull on the phone and we settled on the 16 for max protection and minimum buffeting around the head and shoulders. As soon as It gets here, I will install, ride and report back.
If this seems like a repeated post, just ignore one or the other, since this wonderfull computer is doing stupid stuff.

Tim,
Thanks. I'm 6'1/2" and think that the 16" is probably about right. Can you post a picture asap? I'm used to the windshield on the Electraglide and have discovered that I do not enjoy the wind blast on the ULY at all. If your impressions of the Cee Bailey are positive once you've given it a go then I'll be ordering one for myself. The photo, if you can post one, will show how it fits the bike and whether you look over or through it. Thanks.

Anyone know what the difference is between the STANDARD & EURO cut on the Touring windshield? C-B site offers no explanation.

Thanks,

Thats a nice picture but that windshield isn't for a Uly so it really isn't much help as the entire windscreen is different.

I just ordered the 14" Touring with Euro cut from Cee Baileys. The only difference in the Euro cut is that it has a dip across the top that is suppose to put your head and shoulders in still air. We shall see. Actually it sounds like Tim's already puts his head in still air but at least you will all see the difference after I get and install mine. I'll post a picture and give a report in a week or so and it'll be depending upon the weather here in Nebraska. I asked about the holes being off and they told me that if both sides are mounted at the same time instead of one side at a time, then the holes are alright. Again, we shall see. Oh yeah, $157 shipped by FedEx to my door.

The Euro cut is flat on the top. The standard cut is curved at the top. This link explains the cuts:
