The problem of hot air blowing out the right side under the seat is now addressed with this additional barrier. It can be used alone or in conjunction with the underseat heat barrier.

I have been using it for weeks now and I am very pleased with it. Anyone complaining of the hot air out the right side should try this. It makes a huge difference.

I made the template for the underseat and rightside barrier and Mike at Special o.p.s. is selling these.

The hot air needs to come out somewhere; otherwise you're going to cook something. Either the electronics under the seat or the oil in the rear cylinder.
Do the heat shields just re-direct the airflow to somewhere more tolerable or do they restrict the flow?
On another note; If re-directing the hot air coming out from brake reservoir area doesn't hurt anything... a carbon fiber cover there would look cool!

The majority of the airflow goes out the back past the shock anyway without the barrier.

The air that was coming out the right side is directed out the back now.

I have not noticed any difference in how the bike runs or the amount that the fan is running. The opening out the back seems quite sufficient.

Speedstar,
Thanks for working this out with Odie. He's a great guy to work with. I just ordered one to go along with the Uly under-seat heat barrier.
