Well, I guess I'm going to have to find some replacement tires for the stock Dunlops when they wear out. I mostly ride on pavement; I'm the type of rider that the Ulysses was designed for. Any dirt I ride on will be on graded dirt roads, and not many of those. I do intend to put at least 20,000 miles on the bike during this year. I've got a trip to Montana planned for this summer, as well as trips to various Dirt Track races, and twisty road riding (strafing) and commuting.

On my other Buells, I've had good luck with Dunlop 205s and 220s, and I like the Avon AV45/46 tires that are on my 2000 M2. What are other Ulysses riders using, and how do you like them?

I have Scorpion Syncs waiting to go on. I will post my results with them soon.

Are the Scorpion Syncs off road capable like the stockers, or are they pavement only?

They look like great tires-see link

We need a review by someone who has bought, used and tested these.

The Scorpion Syncs are factory installed on the City X's. I don't have much to compare them to, but I really like mine. I trust them 100% in the corners and I think the aggressive tread would fit the Ulys well. Got 7500 miles out of the first set and put the same ones on for my second set.

The Scorpion Syncs are probably as off-road capable as the stockers. They have a wider tread block pattern than an on-road tire. From what I understand, they were developed for large displacement supermoto style bikes.
