i am told that there is a fair amount of acceptable engine noise from a Vtwin. i am hearing alot of tapping sounds coming from my uly as its idling and while its running i hear a bit. am i being hypersensitive or should i have this looked at. Also while cruising at 3200-3400 rpm the bikes starts to miss, this is the only time it does it.

Hey Clayman, I just returned from a 200 mile ride. The temp was 26f when I fired up the the ol' Uly this morning. She warmed up for approx. 5 minutes before we hit the road. About 10 miles later I felt a miss, then again about 20 miles after that. I too was running about 3400 rpm when the miss occurred. I kicked up the rpm and she never missed a beat the rest of the day. This is not the first time that I have experienced a miss at 3400 RPM. I wish I had an answer.

this may be a stupid question but how do you adjust the rpm on the uly. WIND i just got back from a ride to port alerni, my computer crashed and has been in the shop just got it back friday. I went to vic last weekend to see my daughter but couldnt access my computer to get ahold of you. i will be riding down again next weekend. do you find that your bike makes more engine noise after installing your new muffler.

Um well it's louder lol... I hear a lot more noises now I think it's because i wear ear plugs now so i hear different sounds, I dont think there is anything o worry about, The uly has hydrolick lifters, and I havent read about any valve train problems....Everytime I'm in town I bring it by the shop just to have them look/listen to it and I mean I know exactly wha noise you are talknig about, but it should be ok... now my Jeep cherokee on the other hand......

Sorry about that, I guess I wasn't clear. I just gave it a little more throttle.

I seem to hear a few more noises on my ULY than I did on my S-3T. ... I think it's because of the muffler being so quiet. So after the Micron is installed??? ... Terry
