I guess the bike didn't fare too badly. Some external bits knocked off but everything seems straight. It runs but does have a miss now. Guess I'll call the insurance company and let them worry about it.

It looks like a few hundred $$ should make everything right again. Thank goodness your warning stickers remained intact.

Not too bad Cliff. Hopefully you can both be back on the road soon.

Been there! Done that!

I just got mine back on the road. I got all my parts last week and spent New Year's Eve night putting the parts on. New Year's Day here was beautiful and AydenXB9 and I rode to the coast. It seems, like mine, the major components look untouched.

Sorry about the wreck - luckily it doesn't look too bad (I'd be interested to see it without the mud as mine looks a lot like that normally ;) )

Just please remember to buy a new helmet!

You might want to check prices on the parts before calling the insurance. I had a similar get-off on my S3T shortly after I bought it new and turned in a claim for about fifteen hundred dollars which included my jacket and helmet. My insurance went up by 500 dollars a year.

Not worth the hassle in my book for small stuff like that.

Sorry about your "get off" and thankful it wasn't worse for you or the bike.

Isn't it strange how that works out?...you pay insurance premiums to minimize your financial loss if you have an accident. But if you have one, you consider not filing a claim for fear of having your rates increase to where it would have been less expensive for you to not have had insurance to begin with. But you have to have it to get a license.

I suppose if you have a major accident where the bike is totaled it helps, but in an accident like this one [which seems more likely to me] you may be better off in the long run not having, or using that insurance coverage.

Go figure....

Eor; that's because Insurance Companies exist to take as much money in as possible, and give back as little as possible. The "Good Hands" are holding a "Piece of the Rock", and they're just waiting to drop it on your head.

Well, you have to have liability insurance. Thats all I carry on my Blast and, when I owned it, my M2. It's much cheaper that way, and I it wouldn't be the end of my financial world if I had to replace one of those bikes.

The Uly has full coverage. I can't afford to replace it.

Get USAA if you can.

Here's another thing about insurance that gripes my cookies. If someone causes you to total your bike and you don't carry full coverage then good luck getting the other person's insurer to pay up without taking them to court. If you have full coverage then your insurance carrier goes after the other insurance carrier. In that case you get screwed by both insurance companies. Sure you get paid but probably not enough and then your premium goes up so your insurer can recoup. What a bunch of shysters.

I had USAA for years...father was in the Navy then I was a Marine. I switched to Chicago a couple years ago and they saved me about $500 a year on auto and at least that much on homeowners.

Cliffb, any details on what happened?

From the looks of things it doesn't look to bad. Mostly cosmetic.
