Yeah Dave, I just threatened to send my Uly back (serious), I bought it September, picked it up 8th Oct and paid for it and panniers, they said the bags would be there 20th Oct, after that date came and went, they said mid November, after that date came and went, they're now saying mid January. It sucks as I need them to travel!
How much are yours delivered to Melbourne Australia?

Hey Brat I live in Canada and I bought my Uly 23 Aug. Just got the bags November 15th. Well worth the wait but I think they are starting to deliver the bags now. From what I understand there were some quality issues when they first were delivered and that had to be addressed before they would let general public get them.

Hey Thunder, I would have been happy with that, I've been hung out to dry by my dealer, seems they haven't even tried to get the bags, now at least 7 more weeks to delivery! I'm pissed off!

It's going to be expensive to get them to Australia! I would "guess" about a 100.00 or so.

OK, presents a problem, you're an honest guy but I'd like to know what the cost is!

What do you charge for the side bags and mounting hardware on their own?

What size and weight is the package they come in?

Brat,
Hang in there. The hard bags are absolutely fantastic and you'll be very happy when you finally get them. You are waiting for the bags and I am going to have to probably wait over 3 months for the ice to clear off the roads here in Nebraska. I took the seat off the Uly to put on the battery charger and started looking at the frame casting detail on this bike. It's a work of art in my opinion. Can't ride it because of the cold, snow and ice but I sure can gaze upon it. Beautiful bike. Alot of thought and care went into the engineering of this Uly and being a retired engineer I am one to appreciated it.

The only problem with waiting is we're supposed to be going to asia (riding the Muell through malaysia, thailand, laos, Vietnam, Cambodia) late December, not wanting to leave without the bags?

PS Daves, I notice you're getting the rear cylinder air intake in from Hillibilly Motors (strange name for a german company, is there a story?) any idea on a ETA and price?

Oops PPS, is there a suitable parcel rack to go between the two side bags, I have a soft bag that fits the three way tail thingy but it flops down over the tail light, I need something to lift it a bit?

Dave - do you still have bags left? It's been 2 months now and the dealer (parts dept) can only tell me they have no control over it and can't get a reliable delivery date. Now it's a principal thing - thinking of getting a refund and buying from you

PS can you email me when you've got a price ETa on the rear cylinder air intake?

Cheers
Chris

Cross me off from the still waiting list (ordered late September). My bags came in yesterday. They are as nice as everyone has been saying. Look good on the bike too. EASY install.

Got my bags when I bought the bike. They took there bags off of the Demo and put on mine. They work awsome and I can finally ride to work and not have to have my back back on to get there.

Thanks Daves, we've been camping and rock climbing in Northern New South Wales for a few days, couldn't get phone/internet there! Can't wait for the gear to arrive, flying back to Melbourne next weekend!

Is the workshop manual available on CD?

Went back to the dealer today and stopped to talk to my original salesman. I said yep, everything's great, love the bike, but I can't understand why it's taking so long to get the bags. I talked about this forum and how others have ordered after me and already got theirs, etc.

He seemed genuinely concerned and talked about how that didn't seem right, especially since they were the first Buell dealership (Dealer #1) and all and he'll have the owner call on it. We'll see......

Anybody remember the movie "The Jerk" with Steve Martin? Remember when he got his first phone book with his number listed he went running around jumping in the air yelling "the new phone books are here...the new phone books are here". You have had to see it to appreciate it.

anyway - that's the way I feel now - My bags are in My bags are in

OK - so I'm at work and they wife is picking them up. She has more sense that me and had them inspected before she accepted. One saddle bag is broken at the lock. Next I'm on the phone telling her to tell them if they can't give me the whole set and guarantee a replacement part in 1 week than screw it and I want my money back now!

I am so mad she won't put me on with the parts guy so I'm thinking she's not going to do that....

wait - new update - he's sending the two saddle bags back and the company states they are "fully stocked" and will overnight the new bags back by Tuesday. (Question to self - even with Christmas acknowledged, how is that "overnight"?)
Apparently the don't want to give me the saddle bags until the replacement arrives because they want all the keying to match. I remind her that our very good friend is a LOCKSMITH and he'll rekey all the bags for parts $.

Pretty soon I realize she's doing the best she can and I'm yelling at her for it - so I settle down and decide I will drive up there in the morning. I don't get angry very often but its probably a good thing I wasn't there today.

Ho Ho Ho

Congrats to you. Make sure you check them well. My wife says she would not have seen the crack - it was one of the parts guys who was helping her (I bought the first Uly from this dealer so I'm pretty sure these were the first bags in) and lots of folks there were interested in seeing them

Got my bags and tour pack today. Order the set on 10-05-05. Got home at 3:00 and they were all installed by 4:15. Just to let everyone know the right side bracket did not fit correctly like some others have said. Isn't it funny how the instructions say it will be better to start with the left side. Had to loosen the right side foot peg bracket to get it installed. Took it out for a test ride with all the bags on and empty. No changes in handling up to 95 MPH. Will do some more testing with the bags loaded. I also got my KickAsh airbox Cover.

Installed all the parts I have tonight. Both side brackets, the tail hardware and the tail bag. Very easy - 3 bolts per side,2 for the cross brace; total of 6 for the tail. As for the right brace - the foot peg hole initially looked way off - at least 1.5 inches. All I did was pull up and back on the rearmost loop of the bracket. I was able to pull it hard enough with one hand to get it to line up enough to install the bolt with the other. I took my time and did it in less than an hour. The next set I could do in half the time. Very nicely engineered set. 8 bolts out, 14 in Can't wait to get the side bags.

Ciao
