I just went for a nice long ride after installing my American Sport Bike open airbox conversion. Honestly I couldn't tell if the bike was any faster because the roads are still quite dicey but I was pleasantly surprised by the new intake noise.

I've always been dissatisfied with how quite the Uly was from the factory. I'm not looking for anything obnoxiously loud but a nice deep tone would be nice. Well with the intake opened up you now get a nice growl from the intake whenever you twist the volume control in your right hand : )

For folks looking for a little more sound from their Uly this is something you might want to check out - plus Al's dyno work was showing some real HP gains from this mod and its cheaper than a new exhaust.

Now do I still want to get a new exhaust... Who am I kidding I'm sure I'll do that too...

Long before the Simpsons there was:
"Homer was A Greek poet, to whom are attributed the great epics, the Iliad, the story of the siege of Troy, and the Odyssey, the tale of Ulysses's wanderings." quoted from http://www.online-literature.com/homer/odyssey

Although I didn't really think of any of that when I created my screen name - Homer is actually the name of my dog - check out that big head and tell me you don't just say Doh! : )

Negative Clayman. No ECM change or TPS reset.

The only thing that was a bit unexpected was that the kit doesn't really have a place to mount the controller for the exhaust valve.

Al sent me directions for how to drill the airbox cover to permanently mount it but since I plan on doing an exhaust in the near future I just elected to use a big piece of velcro to secure it to the top of the cover and that seems to be working fine.
