I use my current cycle (Yamaha YZF600) to ride to work most days of the week when there isn't snow or ice. This is about a 30 mile commute on the interstate. Do you get blasted with air like you're riding a dirtbike when going down the highway or do you still sit more "in" the bike than "on" it like you would on a dirtbike? This will be important to me since a lot of my riding will be to work and back. |

I feel the wind blast a lot more on this bike than my other (V-Strom 650 with MP screen). My head is completely in the open air but I like that. The stock screen does block some wind from your chest but that is about it. There are other aftermarket screens coming out. Cee baileys has a new larger one worth looking into. With the stock seat you are "on it" with my Buell low i fell more "in it". I would not mind a 30 mile freeway trip everyday on it but I don't mind the wind. I hope this helps |

I find the bike very comfortable to about 70mph. The stock windshield leaves "clean air" around your helmet up o that speed. At 70 mph and above I get buffeting and push back. If you can keep it a 65 (ha!) you will have a comfortable commute. I got the Buell low seat for Christmas but haven't been able to determine if that will change things. I plan on waiting to see what Buell comes out with regarding a higher windshield. My guess is that the low seat and a slightly higher windshield will make this bike capable of very comfortable long distance highway travel. |

I have never ridden a dirt bike on the Interstate so I am not sure how to compare the two. I get the wind from the shoulders up. I feel comfortable with no buffeting up to 80 mph. Anything below 80 is like butter. |

I'm pretty tall, and at 6'5", I'm one big sail on to of the tall Uly. I find that anything south of 90mph is not too awfully bad. Anything north of that is pretty difficult. 70 to 80 mph will have you leaning into the wind, but it's not tiring or anything. |

Chad, You should grow a great big beer belly to improve your drag coefficient. LOL

So far it doesn't sound much worse than my current bike for the freeway. I guess if it did become an issue I could always get the Cee Baileys windscreen that's on one of Daves bikes. |

How does the windblast compare to that of an X1? Mine was bad until I figured out how to sit on the thing. Has anyone popped off the clear plastic and tried it? |
